I was planning my wedding and we decided to choose this restaurant for my wedding dinner venue just solely because of the good food serving.

However throughout the preparation of my wedding, the team actually perform beyond my expectations of standard Ipoh wedding venue. They give us a wedding dinner experience I will never have in normal restaurant. Expectations wasn’t set from my side but they just surprise me with a few positive points:

The coordination - they response my message in short period of time (as I work in kl and has less time spending in Ipoh, mainly communicate via WhatsApp)

Of course the good food and the food presentation - my relatives and friends have positive feedbacks on the food served. It was something different to most of them and of course the taste was good. I’m glad that the standard of food wasn’t affected even they need to cater for 23 tables

The good service - a few things that made me unforgettable. The service team remind us the toasting process, they even help my grandmother to cut the food in smaller pieces when needed. Also, they keep checking on us what else they can provide to make sure our wedding running smooth.

The dedication of the team - I would say I will never have this good service with my requirements here and there. I contacted ah wai and Jenny most of the time. Anything I requested they will assist to fulfill at their best.

Nevertheless, I remember the decor of VIP table. To be honest I didn’t expect such a romantic flower decor in any Ipoh normal restaurant. But yea they surprise me again.

Our long-awaited reunion dinner at Sun Kong turned into a frustrating and forgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the problems began:

Slow Service: Dishes took an excruciatingly long time to arrive, leaving us waiting for ages between courses. This significantly dampened the celebratory mood.

Inattentive Staff: No staff members were available to refill our drinks or address our requests. We felt completely ignored and neglected throughout the evening.

Unbearable Heat: The lack of functioning air conditioning made the entire dinner uncomfortable and unpleasant. Despite mentioning the issue, no proper solution was offered, further adding to our disappointment.

Order Chaos: Dishes arrived in the wrong order, and some were even missing completely. This added to the confusion and frustration of the evening.

Overall, this was the worst reunion dinner experience any of us had ever encountered. The combination of slow service, inattentive staff, uncomfortable temperature, and order mix-ups left us feeling frustrated, disappointed, and frankly, ripped off. We cannot recommend this restaurant for any...

4. stir fry mixed vegetable - tasted ok
5. fried pork knuckle with mantou - mantou was soft and loved the choices of sauce given, fried pork was alright

7. thai style chicken - tender chicken, tasted alright

9. glutinous rice - tasted good, flavourful, was the best of all
