We visited on a Wednesday instead of the weekend so the wait time wasn’t too long . Went to Tasik Cermin 2 instead of 1 because saw ppl on tik tok recommending saying the boat ride guides/rider on TC2 did a better job explaining and making the whole experience better . But thoroughly disappointed.
We paid rm25/pax for 20 minutes ride but the entire ride just took us around 10 mins to and fro . Felt a little cheated on this part.
I did ask the boatman to explain about Tasik Cermin and the stories behind it but he flat out said “Saya tak suka cerita cerita, style setiap rider lain lain. Klu u ada soalan then u tanya.” This just made us not really excited upon starting the ride itself . After that, me and my friend did attempt to ask some questions just to get him to talk but he only answered whatever we asked about . So at the end we didn’t really know what to ask anymore. Maybe we just got a rider who doesn’t really talk much . But it did kinda dampen the entire experience .
No safety briefing was given before the ride on what to do when entering the cave . We were just given life vests and asked to get on an inflatable boat (6pax/boat) and the ride started. The way through the cave was actually rather dangerous because you would have to duck down due to the low level of the ceiling of the cave . And it’s really dark . A little heads up from the boatman would have been better . The foreigner next to me actually hit his head by accident as he wasn’t expecting it. Safety hazard !
Overall the view was nice , but I wouldn’t say it was worth the money. It might be better to just visit Tasik Cermin 1 and walk through the mining tunnel for only rm4 which we actually did after that .
Overall , I feel it’s overrated and over hyped by...
Read moreIt was my first visit to Tasik Cermin 2 and I was quite intense awe of its beauty though there were some slight drawbacks. Highlights and tips: There is an entrance fee of RM4 for Malaysians with an identity card and RM12 for foreigners. Tickets are to be purchased at the entrance at a dedicated counter. Alternatively, can be purchased online 1 day before. Boat ride fees are a separate fee. To access the lake, visitors go through a tunnel to emerge at the lake. It is quite a sight to behold. Once out of the cave, it can be pretty hot and humid. I highly recommend wearing airy clothes suitable for the area and if possible, visit early in the morning when it opens for cooler air. The lake and surrounding areas is beautiful naturally. The area feels peaceful though when there are lots of people, it is still easy to get lost in its beauty. There is quite a number of parking spots for Tasik Cermin 2 but it is also shared with the nearby cafe, Kin Loong Chang Jiang Cafe. When we came, there were almost no available spots and this was about lunchtime. Data connection was quite spotty in the area.
There were a few things that fell short for this place: With the number of boat rides, the beauty of the surrounding mountains, trees & limestone surfaces is not reflected well anymore. Even on a weekday, it can get pretty crowded. Not everyone is very understanding and can just stand in front of your frame or block you from taking photos. It can get extremely hot.
It was a good visit and it did enjoy my time there except for some drawbacks. It would be a good first time visit though not quite sure with all the disrupted reflective views, it would require more for me to...
Read moreWe have a bitter and sweet moment at this place last Wednesday. We travelled down to Tasik Cermin with family of 7 and wanted to have a good time here but instead we had a rude and unpleasant experience here at this place.
We lined up , paid and waited for our name to be called by the person in charge. My mother’s name was called after waited half an hour. So we walked over and one of the lady Indian staff name Kalai told us to keep our bags and belongings in the locker and then wear the life jacket provided next to the locker. So all of us follow the instruction and wears them on.
Then the lady Kalai shouted at us and ask us to remove the life jacket on us and pass to other people. We then explained to her saying we were following instructions to wear the life jacket as the next boat is our turn. Kalai shouted at my mum very rudely and loudly by saying DON’T TEACH ME WHAT TO DO. We felt extremely disappointed as this is a service line , you could’ve explain it in a better and proper way but you choose to shout on our face. She then say, JUST REMOVE YOUR JACKET AND WAIT FOR YOUR NAME TO BE CALLED. What is this ? You called our name and ask us to leave our belongings at the locker and guided us to wear the life jacket. Then she continue shouting at my mother.
We started our journey in such a bad way as we encountered such a terrible and rude staff !!!
Luckily the Malay staff who take care of us took very nice picture for us during our ride. But overall I will never go back to this place because of this staff and I’m disappointed of such a rude...
