First time come to this place and found it by just browsing the map.
Environment or atmosphere is superb as it’s quiet with some nice music (my family is noisy there). Everything there is nice and tidy, feel clean and elegant. AC is not too cold, just nice. Looks like a new place even from outside.
Menu, many of the item is quite classical. I myself love classical stuff. Choices of menu is good but I feel they should have some fish or seafood in it (cafe/bistro). There’s a course menu next door with a higher end dinning experience. This course menu is alright as there’s many choices of fish in their menu (if you are a fish person then you’ll have to get their course by course /set menu).
Service is good as the server (forget to ask for his name) always check in us and can answer many of my question without doubt and precision.
What did I ordered? Pesto pasta(no black pepper and spicy)- pasta is superb as they do as we requested, they did. Come back to let us know the chicken breast is marinated in advance so we’re ok with it as this dish is for our kids and us to share. Taste is alright as it doesn’t over power anything that’s in the plate. My personal reference, would prefer pesto to be more. Cheapest set (RM80 course meal) -Sour dough with butter-balance perfect and nice. Kids like it a lot. -French onion soup-this classical soup is nice and authentic. Soup is clear and flavourful, onion is nicely done, including the cheese crouton. -Grilled pork loin with homemade fries & mustard sc-I did not eat it right away when food is served cause I did ask them just serve anything that’s ready other than the dessert. I didn’t eat it right away as we’re feeding the kids as well. So when I started to eat my first few mouth I was bit dissatisfied at first. As I was eating it through it gotten nicer after every each mouth. The meat is quite tender when it gets to the centre, Taste was ok and good. -Cream brûlée-overall it’s alright. I think it should be slightly firm towards the centre as it’s a bit soft(melt in your mouth just like very very creamy texture, some might like it but I prefer it slightly more firm if you understand. Caramel burnt sugar is nicely done and crisp. Love this.
Overall-I love this place and will definitely comebacks for more in near future. Food portion is good for one person if ordered their course menu. I give it all 5 star rating cause this by far is real & authentic. Service is good and food is good.
Thank you again as me and my family is having a great time dining at La Formuke Bistro compare to other...
Read moreIt's a new French fine dining restaurant in Ipoh located at Lapangan Symphony Business Park, just 2 shops away from Merton Hotel and a stone's throw from Symphony Hotel. It opened in early December 2019.
The set-up is simple yet it excudes the french dining experience. The wall is painted orange, tables and chairs are arranged in rows and the cushions are wrapped in red velvet, a typical french setting for dining. The ambience sets the tone for diners to enjoy the atmosphere.
For the moment, they serve only 2 sets of fine dining choices and you may choose either one. Both comes with entrees/appertizer, plats/main and dessert. You can view the choices on their menu. Their liquor license is still under processing and when it's approved, they will open a wine bar next to the restaurant and add more finger foods to their menu.
The food tasted good and the portion is enough to fill my dining experience. The mains are cooked with french wines and all their ingredients are imported. The prices are reasonable at RM68+ and RM98+ for the respective sets of menu. Drinks are ordered separately. They open for both lunch and dinner. Closes on Mondays and Tuesdays.
With La Formule opening, it's the second French restaurant in Ipoh. The other is Having's as Garvy's has closed its doors a few months back. Enjoy french food in Ipoh without the need to travel...
