Ebène Recreational Park — Attraction in Moka

This is an excellent initiative and is very convenient for those wishing to keep fit. The enclosed area of the recreational park has well laid out, well-maintained pathways, and one loop is roughly 500m.

For those wishing to run, I recommend using the bicycle park. However, it is outside the actual enclosure of the park, but there are clearly marked green pathways that take you through a residential area until you get to the clearly marked end of the pathway.

Following the path from the start of the green pathway (near the gate of the park) all the way to the end of the pathway, and then back again, is just under 5km. One more loop around the pathway around the park will give you your 5km. Very convenient!

One word of caution, though: run with a stick (or 2). There are packs of aggressive dogs that loiter around one section of the pathway, where there is no one on sight if its early morning, and they come at you from all sides, much like hyenas. I won't lie. I thought I was going to be bitten. It was terrifying. It also slowed down my time because I was trying to fend them off instead of running.

I did report it to the front gate, but it did not look like there was much that could be done

Other than that, I was very satisfied with this place, and I will certainly be back ...

Since January 2025 there is no security guard in the park, at the entrance or patrolling the park. Almost every day there are people playing football which could hit people walking or passing by, there are grown children using the equipment for children and even there was a group of individuals throwing shotput which is very dangerous. Last year there was a security guard who was doing an excellent job but these days most people appear to be ignoring the sign at the entrance stating no balls games etc, would like to know when there will be a regular security guard in the park...
