Tatuluis Exclusive Tattoo — Attraction in Cancún

I can’t say enough great things about Luis ! I am visiting Cancun for a few days alone , and I’ve been wanting to get 2 back tattoos covered up forever . I got them when I was 16 and they were horrible and thoughtless but at the time I thought it was cool lol, I googled many artists in the area , Tatuluis was one that came up . I reached out via WhatsApp and they responded right away. We communicated most of the day about what I wanted and if it’s something he could do and he said yes . I told him I was only in town for 2 more days so it had to be done in one sitting. We made a appointment for me to come the next day at 6pm. Luis doesn’t speak English but his assistant was there and she translated everything and she was great too! The shop was clean, sterile, and beautiful. I immediately felt safe and comfortable. We went over the design and he told me what he could do and couldn’t do . We agreed to a design and we got started at 7pm, they close at 8pm but he stayed and so did his assistant until midnight and made sure I got a taxi back to my resort. I am extremely happy with the work and his detail is impeccable! I have one more that I need to cover and I will wait until I return so he can do that one too! 100% recommend Luis and his shop to anyone looking for a artist to do amazing work !!!! BEWARE OF SCAM

I was quoted 3500 pesos for a 2x2 inch tattoo. On August 22, I paid a deposit of 1000 pesos and submitted my ideas for my appointment on September 11, 2024.

No response for 2 weeks.

I asked for an update on September 2, and they said they will send the design tonight.

No response for one week.

I asked for another update on September 8, two days before the appointment. They said they are going to the studio and sending the design. What I received was a cut and paste of my original idea, with a diamond border around the image.

I was shocked. After 3 weeks of waiting, not even 15 minutes of work was spent on the job. I requested to make changes to the design, and they said “ok ok”.

No response with a final tattoo design.

On September 11, they message at 7 am asking to confirm my appointment at 9 am. With such a lack of professionalism, I decided it was not worth the risk. I politely asked for a refund because they did not send a final design and provide the service I paid for. They rejected my request, for cancelling less than 24 hours and that I shouldn’t blame them for my “lack of seriousness”. Oh, the irony!

What kind of tattoo artist doesn’t send the final design before the appointment?

Don’t ruin your trip by stressing over Collective. There are plenty of other talented shops in the city who treat customers...

Do not pass up the opportunity to get tattooed here, wow just wow. I couldn’t have asked for a better artist! He took his time with me perfecting the design and I was constantly changing things and not once did he get frustrated he helped me until the end result was perfect! Before the tattoo began he showed me the clean needle and the entire experience was very professional. Now... the tattoo itself... Wow. I was speechless it was beautiful! The lines were perfect the drawings were exact and even better then the computer design. He checked throughout the process that I was okay and was a genuinely lovely person and amazing artist.
