Samura Japanese Cuisine & Bar Cancun — Restaurant in Cancún

I'd give this place 5 stars, because the sushi was very good, but there are a few comments:

1. when we came, the place had very loud techno house music (I usually am quite fond of house, but this was just really awful). We actually had to change seats because the speaker was right above us and sit by the sushi bar. Luckily, they changed the music after this too to some pop, so it was bearable.

2. for dessert we ordered 3 leches that was supposed to be served with lychee sorbet, but when they brought us the dish, it was just the tres leches. We asked about this, but they failed to answer why it wasn't on the plate, though have brought the sorbet to us after we complained. The tres leches was by far the weakest of our order, we didn't even eat half of it, although it's meant to be quite good in Latin America. I guess it's poor judgement on out behalf to be ordering it at a Japanese restaurant, but makes you question why it was on the menu in the first place :)

Our waiter was very attentive and the food was served quickly, so I'd say they have good service.

The restaurant's atmosphere has a great balance between cozy and elegant. The dragon roll and Mongolia beef were very yummy, but, unfortunately the Yokawudon was way tooooo salty! It's also a great place for drinks! My lychee something is so tasty and not too sweet. Glad we found this restaurant. Recommend it!

Updates: We come back again on December 28, 2024. Ordered Mongolia Beef and Dragon Roll again. Dragon roll is yummy as usual, but they changed Mongolia beef and we preferred the old way, lol. New dishes we tried this time: rock shrimps, fried shrimps with crispy and thick coat, extremely yummy; seafood soup, it tastes good but probably shouldn't order with the shrimp; and shrimp Nikki, it tastes ok but a bit bland. Still recommend this place!!!

P.S. They have digital menu but no...

Poca Madre !! Perfect Yakimeshi mixto. A straight 10. The best i had in a long, long time. Each ingredient was cooked to perfection and high quality. Chicken soft and tender, rib eye juicy and medium, shrimp crispy and tasty. The tuna cono was excellent. Fresh tuna with great texture. Tuna sushi incredibly tasty with soft warm, authentic sushi rice. High end quality perfectly elaborated. Congratulation to the Chef who as Mexican apparently studied in Japan. Besides cool modern ambience indoor and outdoor. Very friendly staff with professional service. I had an excellent Gin cocktail as a starter with cucumber, red berries and tonic.I am already looking forward to my next visit upcoming week. Sorry about the photo quality. Left my p30 pro...
