I was looking for a good place to eat with traditional Mexican food. I looked at the rating and photos of everything around this area. 2 restaurants caught my eye and this one won. So I walked over and went there. They have a tremendous choice of meals! They have 4 big screens with rotating choices of the meals. Oh my gosh they all looked SO GOOD! So I made my choice. The Tampiquna. It had the most wonderful flavors in every food item on the place of which there was many. The meat heavenly. I read after the history of this restaurant goes back to either 1944 or 1922 depending on which version. They started in Mexico City and still have tamale only stores there. They have another restaurant in Cumbres just south of Cancun but it isnt rated quite as high so I have not been to that location yet. If you want quality Mexican food like was served a generation or more ago. GO HERE. You...
Read moreI'm very big on presentation of food brought to the table, and how I'm treated when traveling. I don't think people should be treated differently if they are traveling, but I felt I was tonight. The guacamole my fiancé ordered was delicious, so I was looking forward to the entree I ordered after researching what the meal was, being that I'm not familiar with a lot of the options on the menu. I attempted to organize the fries after cutting the chicken and asked for sauce or ketchup, because the fries were dry and cold. I was expecting a ramekin of sauce or ketchup, but instead I was brought ketchup packets that were tossed on the table which added to the kids meal...
Read moreOK, here is the breakdown. As the reviews show, the service time was unnecessarily lengthy. The Pina colada tasted like OTC medicine. The rice portion was the size of a baby's fist. They brought pancakes without syrup or whip cream. The bacon was overly fried, so fried it didn't look like bacon. The breaded chicken wasn't crunchy at all. It seemed like it was "breaded" in eggs, that's how mushy it was. The tostados were delicious, but the tomate wasn't diced, so one bite had the entire tostados faling apart, forcing you to pick up the fork and knife. The tamales, which were delicious, so no issues there. The table chips were also delicious. They charge for everything, including butter. The 3 stars are for the clean and inviting environment along with a few...
