I know Los Muertos gets a lot of hype but Concha’s Chinas is a far better beach imo. The water is much bluer and clear enough to see fish, crabs, etc. The waves are calm and safe for those who aren’t confident swimmers. There weren’t many people on either of the days that I went, and there were fewer people hawking goods than at Los Muertos. The downside for some, though is that you can’t really get a whole lot of food over there, so you may want to bring snacks and drinks with you. I went two days and there were umbrellas to rent on only ONE of the days, so be prepared for that. With that said, it is still one of the best beaches I’ve been to in a long time.

Playa Conchas Chinas is a beautiful beach at the southernmost edge of Puerto Vallarta and easily walkable from Zona Romántica. Known for its stunning views of Banderas Bay and quieter vibe, it offers a peaceful escape from the crowds. The beach has some rocky sand, and the water is often swimmable thanks to protective rock formations. With fewer vendors and mostly local visitors, it feels more authentic and relaxed. Lined with charming boutique hotels and scenic properties, it's a perfect spot for natural beauty and a more local experience.

Nice beach with some shade under trees (if you get a spot early). I usually come from the southern side which is 3 mins walking down the street from a bus stop. There are sandy parts of the beach which are good for children and rocky parts. There are definitely some fish near rocks so bring your mask. No restrooms. Almost no beach vendors. One thing that was sad is how much plastic is in the water (you will notice if you snorkel). Also it's easy to catch a good cellphone connection opposing some other beaches.
