Extremely crowded. The beach is not very wide, maybe 10 meters, and it is surrounded by high-rise apartments and hotels that come up right to the sand. Many restaurants set up tables right on the beach, even more right next to it in the apartment buildings. The sand looks dirty, and is full of umbrellas set up by various businesses, not much room to walk at all. A lot of boat and tour operators hanging around trying to peddle their services. Quality of the water can only be described as "interesting."

❤️🇲🇽☺️I love los Muertos beach because as of 2018 still keeps the feeling of old town Puerto Vallarta thanks to the Mexican families who still live here in old traditional Mexican neighbourhoods Which buildings are not more than three floors. ❤️🇲🇽 Love the snacks the local vendors sell on the beach like delicious camarón (pescado) en va ra zado (grilled shrimp or fish o sticks) grilled corn on the cob, donuts, papas con chile (potato chips), etc.

We had to pay ~100 pesos to sit on a chair with an umbrella on the beach. Lots of people will come up to you and ask you to buy what they’re selling if you aren’t a local, but they sometimes had good and cheap things like fresh fruit on a stick. The beach was beautiful. Lots of gay guys and kids here. Restaurant nearby (something señor but not señor frogs) had a fantastic mojito.

After living in Australia for 5 years I wouldn't say this is a top notch beach. The main point I want to share is PLEASE do not agree to do any type of tour being sold on this beach. They are dangerous and not reputable. My group was sold a "private boat tour" which ended up being a water taxi with an 18 year old boat driver. They took us to Las Animas which has very unsafe conditions there and a member of the group had his finger severed on the pier and we had to rush to emergency, they didn't even have a first aid kit. These people can be found all over the beach selling boat tours, snorkelling, whale watching etc. Do your self a favour and DO NOT buy from them, they don't care about safety at all and just want money. Overall was not very impressed...

Bars front the beach target than hotels, so you can sit on one of the beds under an umbrella and order food and drinks. A constant stream of hawkers will come by. They are not intrusive but the sheer numbers are slightly annoying.

All around you get a view of buildings and urban life rather than palm trees and tranquility. If you want a stereotypical tropical beach experience, you'll have to find one of the excursion providers who'll take you out on a boat to an island.

You can get into the water, but the waves when they...
