350 pesos per person for the boat drive was not worth it (no life jacket). The beach is dirty and packed with boats. You can smell the exhaust gases and the sand has oil stains. The water is polluted. At one end of the beach, you have a pit bull that lives in a yellow house. He roams free. I was walking on the beach when he run towards me. He chased me and my only escape was running to the ocean. He trapped me there, between the rocks, because the ocean was too strong for me to swim and get away from him. I was hidden in the rocks screaming for someone to call the dog. The dog knew I was there and he knew the ocean was too strong so he was just waiting, high alert, ready to attack. I was in his territory as he lives there. Finally, the woman of the yellow house called the dog in. It is a beautiful, strong dog, that was not trained no to attack people on the beach. This owner needs to be responsible. I know dogs and I am sure this one will attack.

Las Animas beach was the endpoint for a coastal hike from Boca. The hike was beautiful but challenging in a few spots so arriving at Playa Las Animas was a welcome reward. The beach at midday Friday was filled with tourists, most having arrived in the many boats parked in front of the beach. The beach was a beautiful crescent of sand lined with restaurants and beach activity booths. The restaurants serve all manner of seafood and other items with hawkers trying to entice you into their respective establishments. As you are sitting beach side in your restaurant chair , more geegaw and tourist chotski sellers are coming by to sell you trinkets and desserts. FINAL TAKE: Playa Las Animas is beautiful and probably better very early or very late, before or after the tourist hordes. There are other equally beautiful but less tourist accessible beaches along the beautiful south of...

Angle of the beach is so extreme that a person can't even sit in a recliner without sliding off. Also makes the waves EXTREMELY aggressive, and rogue waves are common that will suddenly flood your space and take your bag out to sea.

All the water taxi services push people here because it's a short water taxi ride, big, and has lots of restaurants. But it really is one of the worst beaches in the area just based on quality (shore angle, submerged rocks, algae, coarse sand). And it's so busy that boat traffic goes through the swim zones and then park there!

Honestly... do you want to spend your Mexican vacation swimming in the 50-feet of space between two large passenger boats? Battling waves that are (honestly) too big for kids? There are MANY other beaches a little further south. Las Ánimas is a classic...

Lovely beach best getting here by boat either through a tour or taxi for the majority unless you have access to a boat. At the right time of the year you can hike up to the waterfall. There's also an activity park 5 minutes walk away. A few restaurants to pick from with descent food. A good place to get away from the city and enjoy nature and have fun at the beach where it wasn't too packed whenbi was there in early may. The sand is very grainy and doesn't hold together much. So walking barefoot you can feel like every piece of sand and close to the water you're just sinking feeling all the time. Oh and there was also a kissing parrot on the beach that comes around while you are at the restaurant and you get your pictures taken and get it digitally sent to you for a price like 2 pictures for 200 and all for 400 pesos
