Me and my family were on a tour of PV and coming to Las Animas was our finale. We saw great looking food as we arrived to the island and excited to order food. My family ordered a big seafood platter, empanadas, chips and guac, and some drinks. The cocktails and juices were delicious and came in large servings. Chips and guac were also great. The reason why I gave El Coral a one star is because despite waiting 2.5 hours our food never came, we kept asking servers when it would come and the always said it was being prepared. Atmosphere was great the beach was beautiful and the view was awesome too. My 2 year old cousin had a great time with the lizard that came around. My whole family was very excited about the food and was disappointed about leaving with an empty stomach but 2.5 hours is a long time to wait for food. I would not recommend unless you want to wait 2.5 hours for food. -100/10 would not recommend!
Edit: To El Coral
I think that there is only one El Coral on Las Animas. So I do have the right restaurant. I was just on your website looking at the menu and you do indeed have Empanadas on there. 2.5 hours may seem like a long time and a exaggeration but my family had to wait that long our server gave us no time period for when our food would arrive and when we asked they...
Read moreIf you are a large group, beware! The service refused to split the bill giving some weak excuse.. even though not every one had cash/some people wanted to pay with card. Then the food took over 45 min to arrive despite it not being busy, and each food item was coming out one by one with large gaps in between. One group member had decided against a food item and told them she didn’t want it and they still tried to bring it out anyways, despite her being clear she didn’t want it. and Finally, the bill was delivered and they charged us an extra item as well as overcharged in general.. when we added up all the items they overcharged us for 300 more pesos. And added some extra charges at the end too. Server was actively ignoring us because we were sticking up for ourselves but he finally fixed the bill in the back.
Oh and ps, this whole beach is a tourist trap because the prices are quite expensive and you have to pay for both food and drinks if you want a beach chair.
Edit: in response to the owner who said that the menu says the rule that separate bills have to be paid on own card.. yes we saw that, the issue was that the server REFUSED to issue separate bills and gave it all on one bill despite our whole group asking for...
Read moreWe were a group of 3 and did the Boca de Tomatlán to Las Animas hike. I was quite hype by reaching Las Animas and was quite disappointed when we finally reached. I didn't like Las Animas at all! But the restaurant was good and nice to relax after the hike. Portions were very generous, so were the drinks. It's on the pricy side, same prices you'd pay in Canada (or even more) but it was a fine experience. Service was good too, they just forgot to bring one of our meals, which ended up being a good thing because we had so much food already it was plenty for 3 pp. I didn't like either that they tell you right off the bat you must spend minimum 400 pesos per person even if the place wasn't crowded at all. I would still recommend this restaurant if you're in Las Animas, but I would never return to that beach. So commercial, you can't even swim because of all the boats in the water and gas smell, it's gross. We walked by so many better stops on the way there. It reminded me of South East Asia and full moon party...
