Overpriced, Slow Service, and Disappointing Food We visited this restaurant after a long hike with our tour guide. At first, I was impressed we were given a cool, scented towelette upon being seated, which was a thoughtful touch after spending hours in the sun. We ordered two types of tacos (shrimp and octopus), six fresh oysters, one bottle of Coke, and a piñada (a non-alcoholic piña colada). Our total bill came to $1,049 MXN, which surprised us especially because there was a 15% service charge added without prior notice. It wasn’t mentioned by the staff or printed on the menu. While I have no issue tipping for good service, the experience didn’t warrant it. Our tacos took over 45 minutes to arrive, while our tour guides seated at a separate table were served their meals within 15–20 minutes. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations either. The shrimp tacos were small and underwhelming just a few pieces of shrimp on soft tortillas with some red onion and cilantro. We had better tacos at the Río Cuale market for a fraction of the price (only $120 MXN for 3 generously filled tacos). At this restaurant, the same number of tacos cost $249 MXN. Another issue was the live music. While some guests may enjoy it, the band moved from table to table playing non-stop and very loudly, which quickly became overwhelming and distracting rather than enjoyable. Lastly, it was disappointing that our tour guide took us to this specific restaurant without offering any alternatives. He simply said, “I made a reservation for our group here,” and that was it. There were several other restaurants in the area that looked more affordable and just as promising. For example, there was a kiosk nearby selling 12 fresh oysters for just $300 MXN much better value than what we received. We’re not picky eaters, and we don’t mind casual spots or kiosks as long as the food is good and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, this place didn’t meet those expectations.

This is a beautiful beach-side restaurant with gorgeous views and delicious food. My low rating is due to the fact that we were left waiting an hour to be served our meal and they included a 15% gratuity in the bill without letting us know ahead of time. When we asked about our food, they did provide free chips. If we didn't ask about our food I don't think we would've been served at all. In comparison, our hiking tour guide who took us here at the end of our hike and essentially made us eat here, was served his food quite quickly. Be careful.

Came to this place after doing the hike to go to Colomitos Beach. You cannot be in Jalisco not get seafood! I wanted to keep things light because I planned on having dinner later on and opted to get the mixed seafood cocktail. It was huge! They also give you tostadas and crackers with it. Let’s just say I ended up not having dinner afterwards. Service was very nice and food was very fresh and delicious. You do see a lot of locals around the area that’s how you know they are good and you’re kind of getting the real deal.

Honestly, a pretty disappointing experience. I was pretty mad at the waiter too. We got there right as they were closing and the waiter of course was like oh for sure we can fit you in then went and sat with his coworkers as we sat right next to them. Another person came out and brought us the food then the waiter that originally saw us. Came out the check and it had a $50 chef fee. I’ve never heard of a chef so I asked him about it and he just made up some bull excuse. I didn’t end up paying it because I was...
