I see I wrote a review last year about Edgar and Travis. I just took another class and this last review is still applicable, but I wanted to add my impressions from last night: My letter to our chefs sums up my feelings: Dear Travis and Edgar, First of all: You are definitely a tag team and a dynamite duo. The entire meal was divine and my abdomen is still very swollen and content with food. Thank you for educating me on the culture of Mexican food, as well as the culture of Mexicans. Edgar, you confirmed what I have already experienced with my Mexican friends with food, family, and friends. You both have fine tuned the experience of prepping, teaching, and eating. By the way, I love the new setting. I want to give kuddos to Dona Francesca. I know she was only a "replacement," but I've done her job and it is ongoing and not necessarily the most fun, so I'd like to acknowledge her too. Again, thank you for being one of the highlights of my trip! I not only look forward to another cooking class with you two, but one of the food tours. Sincerely, Vivian
From last year: If you like to cook, learn about ingredients and how they work together in a recipe, and of course, if you like to eat, My Mexican Cooking is one of the best. Travis and Edgar are knowledgeable and excellent instructors/chefs. Everything was nice and slow, whether it was explaining about the various chilies or assisting in the preparation. We were given opportunities to sample various ingredients prior to putting them into the recipe. Even though we had several courses throughout the evening and never in a rush to eat those dishes, there was way too much food. If you have any food restrictions, dislikes, allergies etc. they are very aware of people's needs and accommodate to them. I can't wait to return to Bucerias and take another class from the dynamite duo and their assistant,...
Read moreOur group of 4 went on the Omnivore tour on a Thursday morning along with 6 other people . Our guides, Edgar and Carmen, were kind, entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. They shared information about how food was prepared and enjoyed in several states of Mexico. The food we were introduced to at the 4 “hole in the wall” establishments we stopped at was delicious and our hosts at these places were very gracious. We also stopped at places where we sampled ingredients that were common in Mexican cuisine. The candy shop and the spice shop were some highlights of the tour. I highly recommend this tour as a great experience and a bang...
Read moreMy mom and I attended one of the Seafood Tours in April and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. We visited 6 or 7 stops and had more than enough food to be satisfied but not feel overfilled. We had such a great variety of tacos, ceviches, seafood salad and other dishes. The information provided will stick with us as we continue to explore Mexican cuisine. We spent our walk home from the tour discussing which tour we’d do next so that is a testament to the quality! Travis and Edgar were great tour guides, we can’t wait for a chance to go again. The photos are a few of the dishes we tried and I will go back to each of these...
