Our first cenote, I went with my 3 kids who had a blast jumping from the 12-foot high cliff into the greenish water. The water is green from the algae on the rocks below, but it’s VERY VERY CLEAR water, so don’t let that keep you away! The cave part of the cenote is super cool. We saw birds at the top of the cave eating what seemed like bees in a hive of sorts. The water in the cave was bright blue with beams of sunshine piercing through. So amazing! Small fish inhabit the cenote. One variety will nibble your feet (it tickles) to eat the dead skin cells (pedicure?). We saw iguanas around the cenote. I was hoping to see a monkey, but no such luck. There’s no zip line or repelling here, but still we spent 5 hours. We were the first to arrive a little after 8:00am. There’s a mini cenote pool when you first enter which we bypassed entirely. But there’s also a cute separate pool towards the back which is more secluded. The lush greenery including the mangroves all over make this place a tropical wonder. It really was amazing. There’s a little taco spot on the highway when you enter that we stopped at afterwards for lunch. They do sell limited snacks here, but you can also bring your own food in. And they provide life jackets, which you need to snorkel. Bring your own goggles and your own snorkel though. Oh, and it didn’t get too crowded. We went on a Monday in July. Cost: 200MXN per adult, 150MXN per...

Cenote Azul on the Yucatan Peninsula is a real discovery for every nature and adventure lover. This natural pool, located in the heart of the Mexican jungle, enchants with its crystal clear water that invites refreshment on hot summer days. Surrounded by lush vegetation and rock formations, Cenote Azul offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkeling or exploring underwater caves, making this cenote the perfect place for adventurers. The clear blue water is home to a variety of marine life, including colorful fish that can be seen even without scuba gear. For those looking for relaxation, it is possible to just sit on the edge of the cenote and admire the natural beauty that surrounds this place. The service at Cenote Azul is outstanding; the staff is friendly and always ready to help, whether you need directions or recommendations for the best activities. Also, the facility is well maintained with clean facilities, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. The prices are affordable, which makes Cenote Azul accessible to all budgets. Whether you come with family, friends or alone, this cenote offers an experience that will satisfy every visitor. I definitely recommend adding Cenote Azul to your list of places to visit while in the Yucatan - you...

Cenote Cristalino is straight out of a dream. Tucked just off the highway, it feels like you’ve stumbled into a secret oasis—crystal-clear waters, lush greenery all around, and a calm that wraps you up the moment you step in.

The name doesn’t lie—the water is cristalino in every sense. You can see straight to the bottom, fish gliding beneath your feet, sunlight dancing on the rocks. There are shaded pockets for quiet floating, open spots for sun-drenched swims, and even a little cliff if you’re feeling bold enough to jump (you should).

What made it even more magical? It’s peaceful, well-kept, and has a natural beauty that doesn’t need frills or gimmicks. Just nature showing off. We floated in silence for what felt like hours, completely lost in the serenity of it all.

This place isn’t just a swimming hole—it’s a full reset for your soul. If you’re looking for a cenote that feels untouched, sacred, and soothing,...

Well maintained cenota in the middle between Playa and Tulum. Water is very clear, there are one big pool and some smaller ones. You can swim, snorkel or jump from 3.2 meter cliff. My children 10 and 14 were having the biggest fun from the cliff jumping. You can also enjoy the peeling from small fish 🐟 Snorkeling is possible through the whole area, the depth is max 4 meters. There are toilets, obligatory showers and snack bar at the area. There are also lockers, in the price of 100 small or 150 big one. The entrance for foreigners is 200 mxn or 150 for children to 10 years old. There are two entrances, the most accessible is just next to the main coast road. Parking is free of charge. Go as early as you can cause the place gets really crowded after 11, especially during the weekend. Or go at the closing time, around 3 pm.
