Our first cenote, I went with my 3 kids who had a blast jumping from the 12-foot high cliff into the greenish water. The water is green from the algae on the rocks below, but it’s VERY VERY CLEAR water, so don’t let that keep you away! The cave part of the cenote is super cool. We saw birds at the top of the cave eating what seemed like bees in a hive of sorts. The water in the cave was bright blue with beams of sunshine piercing through. So amazing! Small fish inhabit the cenote. One variety will nibble your feet (it tickles) to eat the dead skin cells (pedicure?). We saw iguanas around the cenote. I was hoping to see a monkey, but no such luck. There’s no zip line or repelling here, but still we spent 5 hours. We were the first to arrive a little after 8:00am. There’s a mini cenote pool when you first enter which we bypassed entirely. But there’s also a cute separate pool towards the back which is more secluded. The lush greenery including the mangroves all over make this place a tropical wonder. It really was amazing. There’s a little taco spot on the highway when you enter that we stopped at afterwards for lunch. They do sell limited snacks here, but you can also bring your own food in. And they provide life jackets, which you need to snorkel. Bring your own goggles and your own snorkel though. Oh, and it didn’t get too crowded. We went on a Monday in July. Cost: 200MXN per adult, 150MXN per...

Read moreCenote Cristalino is straight out of a dream. Tucked just off the highway, it feels like you’ve stumbled into a secret oasis—crystal-clear waters, lush greenery all around, and a calm that wraps you up the moment you step in.
The name doesn’t lie—the water is cristalino in every sense. You can see straight to the bottom, fish gliding beneath your feet, sunlight dancing on the rocks. There are shaded pockets for quiet floating, open spots for sun-drenched swims, and even a little cliff if you’re feeling bold enough to jump (you should).
What made it even more magical? It’s peaceful, well-kept, and has a natural beauty that doesn’t need frills or gimmicks. Just nature showing off. We floated in silence for what felt like hours, completely lost in the serenity of it all.
This place isn’t just a swimming hole—it’s a full reset for your soul. If you’re looking for a cenote that feels untouched, sacred, and soothing,...
