La Trattoria — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Worst experience of ala carte I have ever experienced. First of all, let's start with the service.. our server was rude and arrogant to begin with. I am not sure where he learned his restaurant hospitality from. You are a 5 star resort ala carte restaurant and you do not have even a basic hospitality. Never introduce himself , just jump into asking us have we scan the qr code yet. His face reaction was arrogant and snobbish. Food were aweful , I have ordered Mediterranean sea bass , the fish was too salty and when I sent it back, the same server was not happy and came back and ask me would I like to change for something else. Plates were servefrom sideway without warning , hot plate just passed through my face. I felt that this server should not be in this service. Even the buffet servers have better manners and skills compare to this person. I am totally disappointed and I would not recommend tlhs restaurant to anyone. They should retrain all their staff in basic hospitality especially you are catering international guests.The buffet at the resort serves better food and better service. Shame on you la trattoria... Yesterday, we went to an Italian restaurant. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about the experience. First, I appreciated the service initially. As soon as we sat down, they asked what we’d like to drink. We requested champagne and wine. However, we waited for our drinks all the way until the main course. We had appetizers, soups, and even finished those before, after the third reminder, they finally brought the alcohol. This seemed absurd to me because drinks should be served before appetizers, not long after.

Regarding the dishes, my wife ordered meat for her main course. The first time it was undercooked, and when they brought it back, it was overcooked. So, she wasn’t able to enjoy it the way she wanted. I ordered a salmon pizza, which was okay—not exceptional, but not bad either. It was just average.

As for desserts, most of them were overly sweet, except perhaps the panna cotta. However, even that was topped with a strawberry or raspberry sauce that was excessively sweet.

Overall, we left feeling dissatisfied with the experience. As I mentioned, the service in this restaurant needs significant improvement, and I recommend that management...

Well, I've described the wonderful, professional service of all Barcelo staff, now let's talk about food and amenities, we made a reservation for the italian themed La Trattoria at Barcelo Maya Beach, from the warm, professional and kind welcome from Miguel Cisneros, who "runs" the show without showing off and Yaneth to the great, timely, personalized and accurate service of Gerardo and Benjamin, we were 15 people and all of us were served our meals without mix ups, to the photographs of great italian artists and the soft italian music in the background without being too loud to the delicious, fresh and varied salad bar and the dishes, !!ma che cosa!! the delicious dishes, desserts and beverages, every one in our group was so pleased about the good taste, recipes and portions!!
