The service was as it should be, attentive and friendly. The food, sub-par for a formal dining experience. It's an all inclusive, that you have to book an appointment. It's nice to sit down in a restaurant setting, however I could not tell the difference between the cuts of meat at the all-you-can-eat buffet at the resort, or any of the reservation restaurants on site.
This being said, by no means is it bad, nor should you skip it.
On another note: What I really appreciated is their attention to cleanliness. Although any mask/respirator that isn't rated at a 95 or 100 will not provide respiratory protection from any inhalation of airborne viruses for the wearer. Wearing a surgical mask does help if someone is sick, and is coughing and sneezing. It keeps the transmission down and keeps fingers from nose and mouth as well. My point is, the staff is wearing eye protection (not goggles) but either faceshields or safety glasses, and surgical masks. I definitely give a 5 star for that! Not related but they even sanitized our luggage upon arrival. Another 5 stars for that. Lastly, even though you don't have to tip it's always good to show thanks to the staff.

Read moreLa Dolce Vita Italian restaurant at the Barcelo Maya Riviera adults only complex is a fun place to have a cocktail and a delicious meal. We enjoyed great connection and hospitality from Jose and Bryant so much that we came back a second night for a repeat dinner with Abdy and Gerardo. The atmosphere is modern and classy. The service from these two teams is top notch; they truly are the best. Both teams go above and beyond to make sure your experience is the best possible. Our recommendation is the Seafood Spaghetti. We also hear great things about the brick oven made pizzas. Benito has been a manager at Barcelo restaurants for many, many years and his leadership inspires an atmosphere of above and beyond attention with some fun mixed in. Be sure to visit La Dolce Vita for an enjoyable meal with outstanding services from Jose and Bryant or Adby and Gerardo. See you next year!...
Read moreThis is a very popular restaurant. Reservation is required, and can be made at the Guest Services office. The reservation was full, and the lady at guest services suggested me to walk in.
I walked in at 7pm, and the hostess asked me to stand by as she needed to seat customers with reservation first. I am so lucky that I was able to get a table at 7:15pm.

Soup: vegetable soup
Main courses: lamb chop with leafy greens and lasagna bolognese
Dessert: tiramisu and Sicilian cannoli
The recommendation from our server was 100% accurate as the were food...
