My cruise snorkling excursion was canceled due to the port authorities prohibiting all water activities because of rough waters. After my party of 4 shopped in the port for a couple hours, the restrictions were lifted. I spoke to a taxi driver and told him I wanted him to take us to snorkle with a guide, but we were limited on time so the closer, the better. He brought us to Playa Uvas, and although it was $20 per person to get in, it came with the use of everything, a free drink, equipment use, and a guide! When you walk in, there are a few souvenirs huts set up. Prices are similar to and slightly less than those in the port. There are lockers and bathrooms. Beach lounge chairs and hammocks. A pool that looked very clean. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a gentleman that took our free drink tickets and set us up with 4 sun loungers together in the sun. He pointed out the hut we go to snorkle when we were ready. He came right back with our drinks and menus for other drinks or food. We then went to the snorkling hut, where they set us up with snorkling gear including mask, mouth tube, vest, and fins. He came with us in the water and put our fins on us and taught us how to wear and use the gear. He swam around with us following him like little ducklings and he swam down to the bottom and pointed out more things than I can list. A barracuda, star fish, stingray, puffer fish, and a whole lot of other things! He also showed us an underwater cave where there were alot of fish! After he showed us where to go, we began to explore on our own. We could have stayed for as long as we wanted, but we had to get a taxi back to the ship. Also while we were there, we got to have our picture taken with a rescued parrot. This was the best day, ever! Every staff member there was so nice and accommodating! I will definitely return!

We booked this 4 hour excursion the night before Docking at Cozumel with our first cruise on the Carnival Dream. Our guide Angel met us at the Port and took divided us into groups and had taxi vans to take us to Playa Uvas. We had two other couples ride with my husband and I. Angel was very knowledgeable about everything he took us snorkeling (I stayed closer to the shore as I cannot swim but someone taking the photos brought the fish to me so I could see them too!!) My husband really enjoyed going out snorkeling and seeing the different fish. The water was soo clear.. but more salty than we are used to being from east Texas and usually only going to Galveston waters. We also did fresh guacamole tasting that Angel Made and tequila tasting as well. We bought macadamia and chocolate flavors to bring home with us! We had a buffet of food and even free alcoholic drinks and water. Our waiter was amazing and took us right to some lounge chairs under a nice umbrella for shade and he let us leave our stuff there.. we thought we would really need a locker but we felt super safe and didn't worry about anything there. Angel was very nice sharing different things about the area on our ride back to the port. I would definitely come here again it wasn't too busy and it was very nice. Be sure to bring towels and wear water shoes.

We booked this tour as they said they were part of the Carnival Horizon ship - which we were on. It was a long time waiting for this tour to start as they were waiting to book people onto the coach. We had to wait about an hour and a half before the tour started even though we were ready. Silvia our tour guide was very lovely and charming. She was funny and was there for us 0 telling us what was good value and not so good value to buy. She was caring and nice. We went to the Tequila shop - where she spoke at great length about the different tequilas and the best ones to buy for taste and to help prevent snoring etc. etc. She gave us nice tasters, working with the shop owner, they showed us massive bottles of the best tequilas. We were then encouraged to go inside the shop to make our purchases. I brought a small bottle of the fruit tequila and also a small bottle of the one to stop snoring. They were in foam wrapping which I thought was great for transporting home to UK. So didn't even think to look inside the bottles. On getting home - the fruit tequila looked nasty , had black stuff in the bottle and sediment. it loos really nasty - I will NOT be drinking this. On looking back at other reviews I now see that holiday makers say 0 drink the samples, but do not buy the bottles to bring home. I repeat this - they are not worth the money It is a scam and shouldn't really be allowed as its extortionate by any other means really. They need to stop this practice and Carnival Horizon Cruises should not be party to this bad selling practice. We demand better truth and not to be sold rubbish because we are holidaymakers. We don't want to be ripped off -Thank you. Please sort this out and stop selling poor tequila. The staff on all the tours really more or less make you feel bad if you don't give tips and they have a great sob story so you feel guilty and tip accordingly. A great beach trip and the chance to spend some time on the beach which was built into this coach tour of Cozumel Mexico - Good shopping and a good tour, but was spoilt by the tequila debacle Buyer beware when it comes to the tequila buying. they are all bad - see all the other reviews, but on the whole the tour itself wasn't too bad. It was a bit pricy though.

Went here for an excursion with Virgin Voyages. Our specific tour guide and waiter, Pedro, were absolutely great. Tip them well! Our trip was a little soured with bad weather and we weren’t able to do water activities. However, if you do water activities the shore is very rocky so like others have said I’d recommend water shoes/sandals. We still got to lay on the beach, enjoy drinks and food, do guacamole and tequila tasting. I thought we would make our own guacamole but it was just a tasting. Tequila tasting guy was super funny and we brought a passion fruit bottle home. Overall people were friendly and the actual area was nice and pretty. Cons were immediately upon arriving they have photo opportunities. You don’t have to buy them but they do try to convince you ($20/photo). Massage ladies came up but the massages were overpriced compared to what I pay in the US. All the people at the shops were wanting you to buy something. I get the locals are trying to hustle but it’s overwhelming getting yelled at by multiple people to buy something. Drinks were super watered down and the buffet was just okay, white people Mexican food lol. Think a step up from Taco Bell. Probably better beach clubs out there.

We loved it. It was recommended by the rental place we use when in port. It can be all inclusive, or you can purchase al a cart. They provide snorkel gear, kayaks, etc. if you chose to partake of the activities. My boyfriend scubas and I snorkel. We usually bring our own, but again, they have the snorkel gear available. The food is great. The drinks are great. I had a terrible headache the day we were there, so I just lounged on the chairs under the umbrella. I ordered nachos with shrimp, and they were delicious. The portion size is enough for two adults to share or enough for everyone to have a bite or three. The water is clear. The park is clean. They even have pools, showers, and hammocks available. The staff is super nice and provides a lot of insight into their attractions. We highly recommend it. If you leave hungry, thirsty, or unsatisfied, it's your own fault.

Visited as a cruise excursion. Quiet and plenty of beach chairs in the shade, with wait staff bringing margaritas and pina coladas frequently, which were mixed right and fresh! 3 pools we didnt try. Food in the buffet was very tasty, especially the chicken fajitas, and the hot green salsa was the best I have ever had--careful, it's hot! Snorkeling was fun as it was our first time but not tons to see on the floor, though the guides took our photos underwater with the fish all around and gave us digital copies for a low price. Didn't love all the gift shop folks trying to sell stuff, but typical in MX. Tequila tasting was great, but bottles to purchase were overpriced by maybe double, I should have offered to pay less. Overall great experience and really enjoyed the beach time, terrific value for 60usd per person including the bus ride.
