This really nice place is divided in 2 parts. The Olas Altas in old town Mazatlán and the malecón that starts where the Casa del Marino (fisherman´s house) is. The first one is about a quarter mile, and has a lot of restaurants and good coffee. I always get a cup at Looney Bean and cross the street to sit on the sill and watch the beautiful sunsets we get. Rico´s cafe is opening soon, which will be delicious too. You can rent a bike in Baikas, right next to Looney Bean and ride all the malecón. The second part is a long wide sidewalk, with a protected bike path. If you rent the bikes at Baikas, you can do this in about 1 hour no stops or 2 if you like to take breaks and look at all the unique locals and the local life. The bike route starts after casa del marino, before that, use the street.

The malecon is usually not as busy during the day because the weather is really hot but at night it gets full of people and vendors. It is also very enjoyable to see the sunsets from the malecon. The waves hitting the rocks and the malecon wall is a great sound. I highly recommend visiting Mazatlan and spending time at the malecon. You will love...
