Alexei Sciusev museum sits on the street that bears his name, in the very house where the architect was born and spent his youth. His fascination with art began in childhood, leading to notable achievements in his studies across Chisinau, Saint Petersburg, and later, Europe.
Sciusev kicked off his career restoring and designing churches, but post the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, he shifted focus to iconic structures across the former Soviet Union: Lenin's Mausoleum and the Kazan Railway Station in Moscow, as well as the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Tashkent. He even had a hand in crafting urban plans for Moscow, where he spent 10 years of his life and was buried.
