I didn't pay for any tour or anything to visit this church. I came when I first got to Casablanca and it was exactly what I needed to have a little bit of peace during a hectic trip. The little grotto with candles was nice and the interior was a little dark and old without the TLC it needed but it still was very quiet and very peaceful. I didn't however like that when I was leaving the guy who was sitting in the little shack thing where you get candles wanted me to change dollars to Moroccan dirhams because first of all why is that my responsibility second of all I wasn't the one who gave him dollars 🤔 so I know when I went there were a few other Americans from what sounded like the south maybe. I love the stark simplicity of the concrete interior and how the stain glass reveals itself as one proceeds through the aisle. It feels Byzantine and Gothic and Modern.
