Until June 2024, you have the chance to watch the exhibition "Life in a Different Resolution" at Nxt Museum. We already went last month and had an interesting experience, it is definitely a different exhibition compared to previous ones, it relates to the future as we see it now. Be prepared to dive into a living room of vertical lights, understand through lights how you can distinguish a walking human, and have shots of you taken by an AI machine. Overall it is a pretty cool experience. We stayed for an hour, and that is more than enough to go through the different parts of the exhibition; some you will enjoy better than others, but we found it quite an interesting concept and definitely recommend going and having a look. Nxt is always a step ahead in terms of what they showcase, and it's one of our go-to museums in Amsterdam :). Recommend booking the tickets in advance, and every time we have gone at around 9 PM which is an hour before the museum closes, but we never had any trouble with waiting in line. As said above, 1 hour is quite enough to spend at the museum. Not posting too many pics on this review, as it is better to see it for yourself and be surprised.

If you want something unusual and surprising to visit - no better yet - experience, this is a must go to place in Amsterdam (or NL). It is in the north of Amsterdam (take the ferry from Amsterdam Central station and walk for about 10 minutes). Different artists with different types of next media art combining high tech and high touch for a maximum impact on you as a visitor. You feel that the exhibition's are highly curated to seek unusual artists with a compelling story to tell. Great to take photo's, but don't forget to observe and watch what you are seeing and experiencing. Some of the art takes multiple minutes to 'complete' or tell the story. They have a new exhibition, so worth a re-visit if you have been before. We've been on a private occasion, but also a business occasion. If you are a larger business with some budget, it also is perfect for an unusual event location and experience and they are quite flexible in accommodating requests.

Our family felt that this was an awesome exhibit. Note that the exhibits are changing, but our selection was really awesome. It felt a bit like the temple that technology built. There were lots of interactive artifacts using relatively simple methods of computational interaction that were, never-the-less amazing, engaging and interactive. We also liked that we had as much time as we wanted in the exhibition and that everything was clearly explained and executed, with friendly staff. Even the location supports the dry and well-chosen nature of the museum. It is located in an industrial area and you enter through a small side-door to the building, that is clearly sign-posted. Very much a Bauhaus experience. There is a friendly cafe attached to the museum and I can recommend using it after the exhibition to discuss. Overall, our family ranked this place a high-light of our stay.

It was my second time visiting the museum (first one was 3 years ago) and liked it cause the experience was totally different. Be prepared to get mind blown with the lights and the visuals. Perfect for children and also toddlers. The things I did not like were that there was a robot that got broken so one of the experience was temporary out of order. Also, if you are a tourist thinking about visiting it is that is far away from the touristic area (and not super well connected) and also that the tickets quite overpriced (if you compare it with awesome/ big museums like Rijskmuseum/ Stedelijk) and also that it is not included in the museum card programme. Another thing were the time slots: there is no covid anymore and for a sunday afternoon was not so packed so I did not feel the need of limiting people
