Feels the opposite of Banksy. Some cool memorabilia but almost all replicas of prints rather than photographs of them in situ.
For me it felt a juxtaposition. The exhibition talks about social movement and pushing against capitalism. Yet it’s profiting off the use of someone else’s work non of which is specified as a replica (e.g Stormzys vest).
Especially didn’t love the replica of the paintings in Ukraine on a mock wall. The originals were placed meaningfully which is lost.
There’s a clip of banksy shown literally saying he doesn’t like galleries. The exhibit is neither approved or signed of by him. Nor do any profits appear to be donated to charities supporting either Ukraine or Palestine, despite works from both regions...
Read morePlace is difficult to find, no clear signalization. Sound in video room was bad and sometimes not audible at all. Most seats were broken. Some pieces had no English explanation (fine as I speak Dutch as well but less nice if you have no knowledge of the language). No idea if I was looking at some original pieces (I would say no). I was expecting a better organization for the price...
