I have recently visited this place with my friend and we were going to watch the movie they were rolling outside. The website told us to come 1 1/2 hours earlier than the movie would start. Though at that time none of the outside seats/beanbags were taken. We decided to go on a walk and I totally understand that this was at our own risk but as soon as we came back (with more than half an hour to spare) most of the bean bags were taken. It would’ve been nicer if they would ask us to come a bit later than told, because hogging a seat for 1 1/2 hours is quite outrageous. But I really love the idea of the outdoor movies with the inflatable screen and headphones. Also the price for the movie was good.

Aside from that the food was quite expensive and their dinner menu’s were a bit limited in meals. Again this is on us because we could’ve looked at the snack menu, however snacks aren’t supposed to be as filling as dinner so we didn’t think of checking the snack menu.

The service was fine, our waitress was kind but it took quite a while to get our food which we didn’t even order that much of. Our order was: 2 kids pizzas, a lemonade and a chocolate milk. It is a bit pointless to complain about the speed of service because it was pretty busy there. Also it was so hot and who knows how long these waiters/waitresses have been working on that day. Which is why don’t mind the speed all too much. Our waitress was sweet and we had our nice meal. Though 30 euros for our order is a lot 😵.

Lastly the atmosphere is just greatt. I am not a huge fan of Amsterdam Noord but this place was cool and the walk I went on was chill, though it is because of how deserted...

I am usually not a critic but this one deserves it.

I have been to this place a many times, unfortunately with every visit the level of service keeps on decreasing.

Went there again this Sunday afternoon for some live music. The place was completely dis organised, people were waiting in the queue to enter but there was no one to tell them if they can grab a table or do they need to wait for some one to let them be seated. Asked one of the waitress and the reply was "i don't know, today is a mess". She seemed to be very stressed with work.

After 15 mins of wait in the queue, we managed to find a table on our own.

Table was very dirty. We asked for menu and to get the table cleaned, after 20 mins a waitress cleaned the table to a level where we had to clean again with some tissue or else sleeves of our tshirts would have been dirty. Menu was still missing, we grabbed ome from nearby table.

Considering how much time it was taking, we decided to order main course plus dessert in one go. Main course came after 30 mins and was bit cold but still was delicious. Once we eat main course, our plates were taken away, we reminded them that we have ordered desserts as well, we were told they are on their way. 30 mins passed after last reminder, we reminded again that we are still waiting for desserts, same answer they are on their way. After 50 mins of waiting we paid for main course and left without a dessert.

This is the end of my...

I dunno why Google won't let me do a new review of Pllek. I went back 24 July 2019 and it hasn't changed. I'm still giving it 3 stars. And I'll still get stick from my daughter! This visit was in the heatwave and it was pleasantly cool at Pllek's location. And that's where some of the problem is. The location is getting gentrified. The food again was great even if it did arrive far quicker than I expected - it was like they had it all ready. 3 main courses, 2 alcoholic and 1 non-alco drinks €73.34. My plaice was lovely and the tomatoes were sensational. Best check how busy before going. Or make a reservation. I'm pretty sure my daughter will want to take me back. I hope they change their menu by then. Maybe add some more choices. Mostly vegetarian. If you're a hipster you'll go every day. You will. We went on the bus from Amsterdam Centraal station and that was fine. Came back by Uber.

I'm probably gonna get some stick for giving Plek 3 stars. Especially from my daughter who loves it. But for me there's a couple of problems... Now, don't get me wrong. The food was good. And the service, And it wasn't expensive. So what was wrong? First, it's just too trendy, urban grunge, for me. And they say the best restaurants have the best toilets... These are industrial. So I'm not matking down the food, its quality or presentation. Or the price. If you're 20-35 you'll probably love it. You'll give it 5 stars. Maybe 6. Bet you...
