A sand and shell beach with extensive rocks at headlands either end. The views from the beach are particularly good, especially out to Rangitoto in the harbour. Seas are quiet. The rocks are comparatively safe and perfect for children to explore the maritime coastal habitat. Cliff geology layered and clearly visible.
