Better Burger Whangaparaoa — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

We visited Better Burger on Sunday during its opening weekend around 2 pm. There were only two staff members working—one at the front counter and one in the kitchen. The place looked good, but it was clear they had been busy, as the tables were a bit messy. There was also a black rubbish bag at the back of the store, likely waiting to be taken out to the main skip.

We tried to use the self-service kiosk but couldn’t figure out how to remove items from the burger, so we ended up ordering at the main register instead. We noticed other customers having the same issue while we were eating. The server took our order but didn’t go out of his way to thank us or welcome us to the new store. We felt more like an inconvenience than valued customers. This was disappointing, as the staff at every other Better Burger location we’ve visited have been amazing and friendly.

On the positive side, the food arrived quickly, tasted great, and was up to the standard we’ve come to expect from Better Burger. However, I believe having one more person on staff would help relieve some of the pressure and improve the overall experience. it was good i had a spicy chicken burger. it was maybe too spicy but that's not their fault i'm just a white boy who can't handle hot food. maybe could have included more pickles in there as they did not come through much when i was eating the burger. the fries were tasty if a little dry but that can always be remedied with sauce. they give you a lot of chips (more than i can eat!) when you get a combo so that's nice. like when you go somewhere else they give you like twelve fries and it's not that much. exaggerating obviously but you know what i mean. the burger was big as well so that's cool. you know big macs aren't even that big. like compared to other mcdonald's burgers they're big but you can go to any other fast food place and get something bigger. at better burger you can replace the buns with mushrooms. i didn't order that but it's probably delicious because i love mushrooms. the food is expensive but as i said earlier you get quite a lot of it so i suppose it makes sense. also probably the most vegetarian options for any fast food place i've been to. they also have a special sauce which is goated. overall not perfect but really good...

Not the best start for new franchise in Whangaparaoa. Ordered on-line. Went to store at collection time, to be greeted by some young fella welcome. Of SUP... Not the best start. Then when asked where my order was, the whole kitchen run around like headless chooks... Then i was told 15mins... Waited 15mins . 15mins of my life i will never get back. To be served. Cold burger. Cold chips. And the extreme fries were cold and in edible... Not the best... Will never go back there again. Will stick to burger fuel whanga. Better service....
