Arundel reserve is beautiful and picturesque. It has public toilets and an outdoor shower. It has some reserved space for overnight campers (for freedom campers I assume). It has plenty of parking for those visiting for the day. There is also a boat ramp, but it is not clear to me how you access it. There is a pretty estuary nearby leading out to the sea. Their is also a scouts hall on site. There are rubbish bins on site, and a concrete picnic table. There is a cafe (Walnut Cottage in Orewa House - and Orewa House is a historic site) across the road. The main township of Orewa is maybe 500m away.

I really can't think of what more you could want in summer from a natural...

This is a decent sized reserve space on the north end of Orewa beach. A well maintained public toilet is available on the premises. There are ample car parks on the reserve which make it very easy to access. The walks adjacent to Orewa beach start from here. On a high tide day, it is an ideal place for surfing too. The Alice Eves scenic reserve showcasing a 800 year old Kauri tree is very close by from here. It is highly recommended on a sunny day, since there are large trees under which one can relax and spend...

Not much can be said for this reserve because it's certainly not a 'best kept secret' in and around Orewa (which ironically is its downfall). Parking can be a problem on weekends due to the popularity of the site but it certainly gives one lovely access to an expansive beach, making it a "day trip' if you plan to park here, walk the beach to the Orewa esplanade, have breakfast or lunch at the many marvelous eateries and then 'walk off' your dessert back to your car at this end of...

Laidback, easygoing, and quieter than the rest of Orewa. The reserve has grass, large mature trees, and a parking area (limited spaces). Standard facilities of toilets and outdoor shower (cold water). Scout clubhouse. The beach here has a large area of of sand along with a bush stream flowing into the sea and a cliff face with rocks extending into the sea to explore. Caution on the rocks as the cliff face is unstable and if the tide is coming in as it's possible to get cut off.

Love this place, you'll be sure to find a spot n when you do on a busy day the smell of BBQ filled air gets your salivating so be sure to grab a bite nearby, so many options but my most preferred is the Fish n chips place by Countdown. Cute dogs 🐕 about and surfers .. be sure to take a body board to enjoy the waves yourself.

If you enjoy being outdoors on the beach it's a good place for an early morning workout or if that's a little too much starting here and walking towards the southern end and back might be more relaxing. If you have children it's a good escape from them or it's a good escape for them
