Read moreI love going to Panda mart, it's true it's a one stop shop, great prices! but the only thing I hate the most in this shop is the customer service. I understand that most of the Chinese staff here are struggling to conversate in English, but being rude to customers are unacceptable. There are some instances:
My husband is asking where can he find an item, the lady staff seems busy writing something, she then shouted "17!", at my husband, he asked again to re-confirm, she shouted "17!". I was on a bit far but I heard the scream so I turned my head and saw her face scowling, she is clearly irritated and hostile. Because of how she treated my husband, I came and told her about shouting at him, she didn't look or apologize at all.
We are looking for something but lady staff cannot understand so my husband said he'll show her a photo then he quickly browsed on his phone, she said, "ok you look for it" and then she left us abruptly, she's gone and escaped.
In the furniture area, I told a young man (staff) that I want to buy the dresser, he is not really approachable, his head is always down on his gadget, he answered "tell me where is it", I pointed it out to him, he walked and left fast to the counter, we didn't even hear him saying to follow him to the counter to pay. I told him that I also want to buy a computer chair, "he said you should have told me earlier!", that angered me and my husband so I told him what do you mean? can you repeat what you said to me?!" my husband said "but you rushed to the counter and never asked us if we are buying anything else!"
There were few bad encounters aside from these so be careful when you ask a staff in panda mart, they will only ruin your day. Staff won't even look at you and pretend to be deaf so you won't ask questions.
The manager though is really kind (I think he is a manager)! He has a faded/shaved hair cut. He assisted us with everything we need, so everytime I go to this store, I know who to talk to. I also like the Indian lady in the...
Read moreI visited Panda Mart around 8 PM with my parents, younger brother and 6-months pregnant wife. Around 9 PM, a staff member named Son approached us and said, “We are closed, walk to the counter.” They didn’t make any announcement about closing time and since it’s a big store, it’s hard for people to constantly check the time.
I didn’t refuse i politely explained that my brother was in another section and asked if I could quickly call him so we could leave together, but the staff member became aggressive, shouted at me and even claimed to be the manager when i ask him that i wanna talk to your manager or supervisor.
While we were leaving, he told security to trespass me without reason. The next day, I called the store and spoke to the manager (Liz, as I was told). At first, she said she’d investigate, but shortly after I received a call from panda mart security saying I was trespassed from Panda Mart. Call was from random mobile number. Not from the store number. When I called manager back, she said, “A lot of people refuse to leave and staff want to go home on time.” I told her, “That’s not my fault I was leaving peacefully.” She then falsely claimed I refused to leave thats why they giving me trespass and she refused to email me a trespass in written with valid reason. Honestly, after this experience they don’t even deserve 1 star.
This experience caused stress and emotional distress, especially for my pregnant wife. Panda Mart’s customer service, staff behavior and complaint handling are extremely unprofessional and show no respect for customers. I will be raising this matter with the Human Rights Commission and Disputes Tribunal.
I will never visit Panda Mart again, no matter if they issue a trespass or not. But I will surely lodge a complaint so that in the future, they learn from this incident and train their staff properly on how to treat and speak...
