Very cool store! Lots of different quirky gifts to get for loved ones but my highlight was all the replicas of burt munroes bikes from the movie fastest Indian.

They have a display cabinet of all his failure engine parts as he trialled and failed as well as his original shoes he used to wear for testing as well as the documents of registration for his bikes.... So cool serious new Zealand history going on. If you want to see the original bike that broke records it's in a...

This 'museum' is located inside Ehayes, a true local hardware store. It's very big, they sell everything but the kitchen sink, from powertools, clothes, kitchenware, giftware, a cafe etc. It's a better place to buy New Zealand gifts than other tourist shops.

It's impressive that they managed to stay open among other store chains. That must be because they stay relevant. They provide clean toilets. The...

It's real. There it was Bert Munro's actual bike, along with a couple of prop bikes used in the film. The collection also includes all of the other bits from Bert's story; clothing, helmet and goggles plus many unique spare parts that Bert made with his own two hands. It's free to look at and there are about a hundred or so other bikes and a few interesting cars for you to take a quiet look at. An...

The E. Hayes hardware store in Invercargill maintains a free motorcycle museum featuring Munro and his work, including the original "Munro Special" Indian. The real, original motorbike is inside a glass case, but there's a replica of the cowling, a prop used in the movie, that you can wriggle into and imagine you're roaring across Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats at 184mph (a record that still stands today).
