Have visited twice, wasn't impressed either time. I was there with others on both occasions. Despite ordering consecutively, on both visits my friends received their order 15-20 minutes after me, I guess due to staff mis-communications/teething.
I didn't feel their was a great variety in the menu, all chicken or beef or vegetarian burgers. I have tried the 'flame thrower chicken', and one of the vegetarian burgers. One of the things was the over-whelming amount of sauce, particularly mayonnaise which drowned and sogged up the burger so if I order again, I will be requesting none, - instead just a little relish. I feel the bread for the buns could be of better quality, and with a couple of options for the type of bun served, - like wholemeal/rye or sourdough. One of my mates wanted egg added to their burgers, and was shocked the price of an egg edition was $3. The 'carbless' option with a lettuce leaf wrap instead a bun, cost $1.50 more.
The other thing is that dine in burgers are served in a brown paper bag. Not even with with a wrapper holding it together in the bag. No reason why dine in burgers can't be served on a plate, with either a stick holding it together and serviette, or knife, fork and napkin and takeaways can't have a wrap placed around it holding it together before being placed in a bag. I have noticed staff handing customers their burgers holding the bag at the top so burger was on its side, giving it cause to become de-constructed.
Other than that, the burgers are ok, but am not convinced the patties are made on site. The chicken tenders are nice, good herb and spices and as a bonus not deep fried. Service/vibe ok on a scale from poor to excellent.
From the price, I expected the burgers to be more gourmet, better presented and for the service/class to be at that next level. It is a new store. I think I came with quite high...
Read moreExtremely disappointing service. We came a few weeks ago and ordered bacon backfire where we got the thinnest pieces of chicken in the burger not the usual amount. It was as thin as the bacon and had hardly any meat at all. I pointed this out to the lovely girl at the counter who kindly gave us two vouchers for free burgers to use.
Today I called up to make the order for 2 x burgers and told the guy on the phone that we have vouchers for it. When we went into the store the same man rudely tells us hes already made the order and the vouchers are only valid for one person per voucher. We stated that this is not very clear that this means one voucher per order - there was two burgers ordered and we expected to use the two vouchers. He continued to make a scene and be rude to us telling us we shouldve known and thats its obvious cause its written “one voucher per person” this is not clear and should have been explained to me on the phone - its that person’s job to explain that to us and to make two separate orders so we can use our vouchers properly. Instead I was made to pay for my burger with this person acting like we are in the wrong.
Very poor service and we wont be coming back again. Roadhouse takeaways has way better burgers, service, price is cheaper and you’ll be supporting a small local business. No more big corporation...
Read moreFirst experience eating here and the one staff member who was serving us was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, I really enjoyed my burger and the kumara fries were 10/10 delish!
Why this can't be 5 stars is unfortunately due to the cleanliness of the place but specifically the bathrooms. I wanted to wash my hands before eating, but was met with very grimey bathrooms.. taps, sinks, mirrors, floors all looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a good while.. very uncomfortable.
After turning the tap on with my elbow because I didn't want to touch it, the soap dispensers in both toilets were empty anyway! lol. Luckily they had hand sanitizer at the tables 🙏 and the friendly staff member was very quick to refill them once we asked after our meals.
I don't wanna be harsh as maybe they are just really understaffed which is understandable in these times, but definitely room for improvement with the...
