Monarch Park — Attraction in Kaipātiki

WOWa!!! Now THIS is the sort of park every hood should have.

This place just keeps on giving 🤩

From the formed pathways, to the stormwater planning (the reason the park exists) to the greenspace, to the playground, to the book library, to the public toilet to the educational signs and spaces telling about local flora and fauna. This is a multi tiered park with many reasons to go.

Local council, if you’re listening, a BBQ facility or two would transform this park to another level.

Very nice park in the middle of Hillcrest suburban area. Entry to the park is from various nearby streets. The walkways are well maintained and clean. Public toilet is available on the entry from the Moore Street entry. A large play area is installed for children. A section of the park has been curated to contain toys and a fun trail for children which makes it very interesting for them. This is a hidden gem, bit of a walk off the main streets (such as Glenfield Road) but well worth it, off a side-street and a very short walk through native bush is a big section of grass and this playground - its under sails which provide plenty of shade for the kids and there's even a big slide that can support an adult hahahahaha its super fun! If you are walking from Glenfield Road side, go by Speedy Crescent and you'll get an amazing view of CBD, Sky Tower...
