It is by far a very unique and picturesque Hotspot to go for picnics and it has a wide variety of amazing activities such as private functions and Manukau Toastmasters Meetings, art classes, homecraft and coffee groups and even a childcare facility and preschool and it's also where primary school classes go for excursions and it's also where children play in the back field particularly on the Weekends and it also has a little bushwalking to Grande View Rd and it's also where I used to go for the Renaissance Disability Group Bootcamp 10 Years ago either on the field or in the tennis court and it's a great Iconic tourist Hotspot and it's a historic colonial building that looks to be very charming and has quite a very unique Iconic and picturesque background in history with its very own amazing tower in the bush and it even has a public children's playground as it's situated right in the heart of Manurewa East and it's also just a 5 minute walk to the Auckland Regional Botanical Gardens 40 od years ago it used to be ideal for weddings and family get-togethers and family or primary school social events and many locals walk through the Nathan Homestead Property as it is a remarkable location for young and old to hang out and admire it's natural beauty as it is also ideal to have tours through the building and I certainly recommend it to my friends family and neighbors to pay a visit as I also love how it also has a field, a public tennis court and a native bush and it's open to the public and it is one very amazing and very popular tourist attraction ideal for...
ย ย ย Read moreI hired this place out and as an educated person I asked what the need to have security was for, not only did I pay $90 for a security guard to sit on his phone smoking the whole time on sight !!! Where you are meant to be smoke free but yet we were told we aren't allowed to smoke on the premises ! Vick the guy who I spoke with originally was so rude and condencending that I had lodged a formal complaint with the council because of it he said to me he doesn't know why it's there and he doesn't know when it came in and replied to me " was that all" maybe you need to be educated on the rules and policies under the council before you are employed !
Secondly he came To the event to lock up and started arguing with all my guests instead of speaking to the host personally, he thought he was the greatest thing to lose all you were there to do was lock the venue your job is not that glamourous to stand there and argue with people. He had no right to do that especially because the only thing left to take out was the DJ set who he actually hurt himself before the event finished and we had to attend to him.
Seriously this guy should not be allowed to liaise with clients ! He genuinely ruined the mood...

The gallery itself has many empty rooms, and sparse exhibitions. If you go for the art, it does leave wanting ๐จ. If you're in the area, then do drop in, for a walk in the garden and some good coffee, but definitely don't make the effort to go โ
You can hire the halls, rooms, and gardens for events and weddings. It makes a stunning backdrop. They often have community functions, and markets, which should be interesting...
