Panmure basin is a crater left by a volcanic eruption and then filled with water when another volcano cut a path to it. The council have done a magnificent job putting a wide sealed path all around the perimeter making easy access for all. Also they have added little exercise equipment and childrens parks dotted about to keep the kids entertained and if your jogging and want more exercise there are monkey bars and gymnast poles etc. The views are really nice and even more so when the tide is in. A couple of boat ramps available so you can fish or just enjoy the water skiing or whatever other maritime pleasure takes you. Read moreHas good walking/running trail around the basin with mix of moderate inclines & flat stretches. There’s also at least 3 children’s playgrounds in various places along the trail, along with new exercise stations. There’s even a small skatepark at the Lagoon Drive entrance. It’s a good place for the family - kids at the playground, adults exercising on the trail or exercise stations. You can even pop over to Panmure for takeaways. I used to come here as a child 20+ years ago with my family and grandparents so and it has not changed - lots of memories attached with this Basin! It is a 'circuit' so its perfect to do 'laps' many times around the basin if that is your thing. NB: Caution is advised during the night/when it gets dark though.
