Thompson Park Playground — Attraction in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

Excellent playground with nested in a quite neighbourhood in Mt Wellington. Lots of open space and fields and the playground itself is considerable in size. In general, a very good vibe.

Good - equipment feels new and lots of interesting things to do for kids of all ages. Big car park, toilets nearby and very accessible. Safe, no cars or roads around so don’t have to worry about smaller kids.

Bad - no shade, killer in the sun, and no shops nearby to get food or drinks if you’re overstaying...

Great little park, just off 2 football size fields. Heaps of room to run and play. The playground itself is really well constructed, and has areas for young and older children.
