Very nice rooms, and excellent cleaning staff. Very poor wifi, mostly unusable from upstairs rooms. I think the service from management/reception could be improved. The fundamental problem appears to be poor communication between staff members. For example: our credit card was charged twice for the same stay (separately by different staff members), and it took several days to get the staff to understand what had happened and agree to refund us (nor were they apologetic). The refund was further delayed as they stated they could only refund $500/day, so it will take 3 days. Most days there was no staff member present and reception was closed. When they were present, they had to check everything with a mysterious other over the phone. At one point we were door-knocked in the evening by a staff member who accused us of staying without a booking - in fact, we had paid to extend our stay several days before, but it appears she had misunderstood the calendar. Finally, the description on Booking.com implies there is a cooking element in every room, but these are only available in the more expensive upstairs rooms.
Overall these were all fairly small problems that were eventually resolved, but little things add up, and the overall impression was of a poorly run establishment with absent management, who should know that their absence leads to problems...
Read moreVery disappointed. As an elderly person arrived to find no reception only a phone number. Couldn't get in, no key to unit. Phoned number, couldn't get an answer, eventually call switched to another number still no answer. Son arrived he phoned couldn't get an answer, then after 7 training announcements about staff he got through. Person required credit card details & charged the full amount of the 3 night stay immediately, even before we had a chance to see the motel unit. There were electronic keys (found under a mat) so he could lock us out if he wanted. On entering we found the rooms dirty, large stains on furniture, the place smelt like it hadn't' been used/aired for weeks. The shower head was broken & barely usable. As we had already paid we had no choice but to stay only to find the shower head broke fully on the 3rd day & was unusable cheap & nasty. On returning home found extra charges on credit card that were not authorised. Complained & about the shower & was told we would get a refund of $20.00 which never happened. Whatever you do, "Do not stay here", Other reviews cited by the motel must be false if our motel unit was anything to go by. Read moreI had to find somewhere in Auckland last minute due to my mother's illness. The room was bigger than I needed and charged close to $200 per night for three nights. I found no less than SEVEN cockroaches (three in the dining room, two in the bedroom and two in the bathroom) in the room. Four of the sever were only small baby roaches but still cockroaches never the less. I observed no cleaning of my room done while I stayed there. On the second day I told the cleaner who told me they would advise the owners. On my last day I went to hand the key in and when I asked if the cleaner had told them about the SEVEN cockroaches the manager said yes. She said they had previously had problems with cockroaches in a different room. She also said she had been going to offer me another room but noticed I was checking out that morning. No mention of a refund or a compensatory nights accommodation. I will not stay here again as they have no idea of customer service. I do NOT recommend you choose this...
