Kings Roast — Restaurant in Ōrākei

Me and a friend went to have lunch and when we got there they said we have to wait 15 to 20 mins. I said why and they said that they have a big order of 20 roast meals to do. There was two Chinese guys so me and my friend waited and then I asked the Chinese guy with the glasses can we order now? He said yes and I said can I have two large roast pork meals and two extra Pork Crackle? Which is $2 each for a Pork Crackle. He said no you can only have one crackle as he needs the other crackle for the roast meals. And I said well you have nearly 20 crackle? Then he said why you laughing? I am laughing because you only giving me one Pork Crackle and you have 20 crackle. In the end I said no do not worry about it. Then I was going to buy a 1.5 coke and asked for two cups he then said you have to buy the cups. I said no I will not buy the drink now. Then we were eating our meal and my mate said the Pork was not cooked and was pink. I took it back and told him it was not cooked and I looked at the pork roll and told him it was not cooked in the middle it was pink. So they had to put the two pork rolls back in the oven. I told them you can make someone get sick. They replaced the roast meal for my friend then my friend said to the Chinese guy with the glasses thank you and have a good Christmas and his response was you will have a good Xmas but not me. This guy was very rude and was very angry at the customers. If the guy does not like working there he should leave. Very rude to customers. Will not...

The one on Lunn Ave 🤤🙌🏽: Favourite roast place 😍 you get a good portion for what they charge. They always give a lot of pork, their crackling is sooo good and they give pieces as well and overall just tastes great. Their customer service lacks a little, but I don’t really mind, their food is so good lol

I think there’s a new one in Kingsland though but I would NOT recommend that one 👎🏽 Ordered off Uber eats a few days ago and what we got was disappointing. It was luke warm when it arrived, the roast vegetables (including the potatoes) tasted like nothing and the pork had no taste either. One positive was the pork wasn’t dry. Crackling was also disappointing. Potatoes and gravy were alright. For $20 it was not worth it at all. Would never go here/order off...

Tasted fine but disappointed with the portion size. $12.50 - or $15 on UberEats as my partner paid paid... (not including delivery and driver tip...). Photo of a small roast beef meal before anything was eaten - two pieces of potato, one kumara, one pumpkin, four chunks of carrot and the rest was peas. It looks like there was a bit of meat in that photo, but there wasn't that much at all, particularly when compared to the roast shops in my local area - Glen Innes/Glendowie (Roast World or Ashby Roast). Unfortunately, those places were closed on the Monday of Auckland anniversary weekend. Container wasn't even full to the top - not great value for money when other roast places out there actually fill the container. Go elsewhere if...
