I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Intercontinental Hotel Wellington, and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel, I was greeted with a sense of sophistication and elegance that is truly unparalleled. The hotel is well-appointed and exudes a high-end atmosphere. Every detail, from the lobby to the rooms, has been carefully thought out and executed to perfection. The attention to detail is evident throughout the entire property, creating a luxurious and inviting ambiance. Speaking of the rooms, I was delighted to find that mine was incredibly spacious and well-designed. The layout was thoughtful, and the furnishings were both stylish and comfortable. The bed, in particular, was a dream to sleep on, providing me with a restful night's sleep after a long day of travelling and flying. The hot water in the shower was plentiful and provided a refreshing and invigorating experience. It's always a pleasure to have a nice hot shower, and the Intercontinental Hotel Wellington certainly delivered in that regard. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional buffet breakfast. The variety of options available was impressive, and the quality of the food was outstanding. Whether you prefer a hearty meal or a light and healthy option, there was something to satisfy every palate. It truly set the tone for a great day ahead. Lastly, the views of downtown Wellington from the hotel were reasonable, offering a glimpse of the vibrant cityscape. It was a treat to wake up to such a picturesque sight each morning. In conclusion, my experience at the Intercontinental Hotel Wellington was nothing short of exceptional. The sophisticated and well-appointed surroundings, attention to detail, spacious room, nice hot water in the shower, comfortable bed, and reasonable views of downtown all contributed to a truly memorable stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable experience in Wellington.

Very terrible experience... I DO NOT RECOMMEND staying here at all! I wouldn't even give one star. We drove from Auckland for 7-8 hours and arrived at the hotel early in the morning. We had only rested for a few hours when we started hearing construction noises downstairs, endless drilling and hammering sounds! We couldn't rest properly at all! From Friday to Sunday, every morning at 8 to 11, the construction noise would start nonstop. Not everyone is awake at this time, okay? We tried to communicate with the front desk staff, but they just told us the noise was coming from level 6. And they were very impatient. So what? What are we supposed to do with this? Are we supposed to go and tell YOUR construction workers to stop?? I chose a five-star hotel for better rest quality, and now your hotel is making it impossible for us to rest properly!!! Moreover, we were only informed upon arrival that the hotel does not provide parking services. We either had to pay to park in the underground garage (about 30 a night) or find parking elsewhere. Also, the in-room TV requires payment too. The carpet in the room had disgusting brown stains, and the toilet seat also had stain marks. This experience was extremely disappointing!! We will not be coming back and highly do not recommend this hotel.

Booked a room for anniversary and everything was excellent, we even got a special welcome treat we werent expecting that made it special from the moment we there. Friendly professional staff, beautiful clean room, great view and we especially loved the club lounge with its fantastic food and drink options. High tea was a highlight and the cocktail menu is a must try. Stand out staff included Lucas and Savira who both made us feel very welcome, so a special thank you to them both. Only constructive comment was that the pool and hot tub areas do need a good freshen up and clean, floors were a bit grimy etc- didnt match the standard of luxury everywhere else in the hotel. They seem to already be in the process of upgrading the area (changing rooms were under construction when we stayed) so clearly they are aware and working on it. The day spa is not operating, but the very polite concierge team would be happy to help you find another spa in the area (which is an excellent location, right on Lambton Quay in the heart of the city and a minute to walk to the waterfront). 10 out of 10, would recommend to anyone and definitely love to stay again.

This is a lovely hotel with a very central location. The hotel staff are wonderful, efficient and friendly. The rooms are elegantly appointed and in a good state. The breakfast is very nice and reasonably priced. Not everything is perfect however: -the sound isolation could be better. My neighbours had guests until late last night and it was quite noisy. I could also hear the elevators from my room. -I booked my rooms a few months ago and there wasn't any notice at the time that the pool and spa would be closed during my stay. It was disappointing to find this out when I arrived. IHG has made the effort to provide an alternative pool option, but going across town to a public pool (even a nice one) doesn't really compare to having a luxury hotel pool 5 floors down from one's room. -the harbour view rooms don't all have a great view. In my case, the premium view was fairly obstructed by neighbouring buildings. Overall, this is a nice place to stay. I may try a different hotel during my next visit to Wellington.

Nice hotel with good view over the harbor. The rooms are being renovated and the new ones were modern and comfortable. Breakfast were good and the staffs were very friendly and helpful.
