BurgerFuel Courtenay Place — Restaurant in North Island

I’m very disappointed with the service and experience we received at Courtenay Place location this afternoon.

Not only was the service well below the standard we expect from BurgerFuel with a wait time of over 20 minutes before any of our food arrived, but the way staff handled a very serious issue was extremely disappointing.

While we were waiting, we noticed individuals outside the store openly using hard drugs. The smell coming into the restaurant was overpowering and made for a very unpleasant dining environment. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they laughed it off and acted as though it wasn’t important.

This response was deeply unprofessional and left us feeling not only uncomfortable but also quite unsafe. To make matters worse, despite being one of the first people served at the counter, I was the last in my group to receive food.

Overall, the experience was unacceptable – long delays, poor service, and a complete lack of concern for customer safety. I hope this issue is taken seriously and addressed appropriately by management.

Customer service was awful!! I feel so let down, I went in yesterday for my VIB Birthday burger and brought some kumara fries too, the girl who served me then tried to charge me for the burger and I said shouldn't it be free? (that's the whole point of the birthday burger) and she got angry at me for calling her out. The fries were so black and burnt around the edges and I was so disappointed because I love kumara fries, I also got given a takeaway bag but I was eating it there and asked for a tray and never got one so I had to eat my burger on some napkins! Also when I opened up my burger bag it looked like they had just slapped it together and half the ingredients had fallen out and were at the bottom of the bag so I'm guessing that it had been dropped on the floor then picked back up again to be how it was? I felt so sad because I usually love burger fuel and wanted some great service on my birthday but it...

If I could give it a NO star rating I would! My daughter went out for a meal and stated she was Gluten Free and requested a gluten free bun and was served a burger with a GF bun but with battered onion rings in it which contained gluten. When she took her burger back the the staff to ask if it was all GF, she was told it wasn't but they refused to make her another burger or refund her money.

This is absolutely appalling as she has Celiacs Disease. Shame on you for not listening to her, for not trying to understand her predicament, nor for wanting to even try to rectify the situation. There was not even an apology or an appropriate level of customer service provided when the issue was pointed out to them.

This place is not Celiac Friendly. Would definitely NOT RECOMMEND to anyone who can't eat gluten! Completely...
