I wasn't going to bother with this review, but they asked so here it is. An average experience, with food that needed more love, especially as it wasn't exactly busy. The 'blooming garlic bread' is gimmicky and awkward to eat, and was dry and overcooked. Her steak was more medium-rare than rare, and my fried chicken was okay but lacking the crispiness I would expect with the word 'fried' in the menu description. I accept these are First-world problems, but it's disappointing because the only other people there already had their food. Assuming the kitchen wasn't rushed off their feet, why then could our meals not be shown a little more care by people paid to do so? It was also disappointing that after 10mins the dirty dishes weren't cleared, and I did it myself. If this place can't cope when it's empty at 7pm on a Saturday night, how do they manage if they're busy? We earlier had our dessert orders sussed, but by then we were over it and just...

Tuesday 29/07/2025 we booked for a group of 4 , there was confusion on what we ordered and meals weren't correct. They said the kitchen were short staffed or something along those lines, we were offered compensation we declined knowing it happens and paid and left . I had already booked for Burger on a plate for Friday the 8th of August , 6 of us--- 5 ordered the burger on a plate the waitress said its another $5 for fries (No problems) we said 5 of us will the burger and fries , our 6 person just wanted a bowl of fries.

The orders came out one person got the fries and burger , the rest of us just got burgers nothing else--- we questioned this at time and was given OOOH okkk . A bowl of chips was dropped off between us WHAT THE HELL?.

As we left they tried to charge each of us with an extra $5 for fries one of the ladies already paid this and left.

Just rubbish service and after years getting great food and service we will not...

the place was great, i really enjoyed the music and the people were lovely. however about 30 minutes into our experience, i was asking the bartenders if there was somewhere safe we could put our bags. a man who works there, im assuming bartender too, approached me and wouldn’t let me finish what i was asking. he refused to help me find somewhere safe to put my bags and instead told me i need to put one more clothes. i was wearing sweatpants, and a crop top. i’ve seen another review here saying my pants were “falling down”, and id like to clarify they were not. he looked at my chest. i asked him to repeat himself as i was shocked to hear him the first time.

on our way out he yelled at my friend to put more clothes on too, she was covered head to toe. i’m allowed to wear whatever the hell i want, aslong as it’s tasteful to wear in public. my experience was overall lovely from other people, but won’t be...

We were disappointed with our choice to go here for dinner. Staff were lovely but the food options were really limited compared to many other places. We wanted a paleo dinner so ordered the steak without any of the non-paleo options. They didn't offer any substitutions for the things we couldn't have. They added balsamic vinegar after we asked for no dressing, and added butter to a side of seasonal veg after we specified it must be plain. The meals were small, only average in taste and we couldn't eat half of it because of the lack of respect for our dietary requirements. We could have got a lot more elsewhere for the money so felt a bit ripped off. Won't go there again with so many other wonderful options in Wellington.

I had a flying trip thru Welly today and had to sample several options of the WOAP offering while I had the chance. Having not been disappointed on my last visit to TGM I had to give them another go. The Cheesy Lebanesey is worth the visit alone. It was sold to me by 'Dan' who paired it nicely with the Esk Valley Merlot Cab. The bite through the brisket, the crunch of the pickles with the roasted red pepper & cheese sauce (wow!) topped my earlier experience today. Request extra serviettes or take your own wet wipes and just dive in. Finish it off with an 'Ape Escape' and dessert is covered. When in Wellington, right? Absolutely!
