The mall owner wants to create more revenue via ripping off customers - congratulations, you are digging your own grave.

As the title suggests, I am very upset with the $65 parking ticket that I have recently received.

My issue is this,

I have received a $65 parking ticket for 30 mins of parking (which would've cost me a $1 parking fee). To be fair, YES - the mall owner has the right to charge people for the car park service that they provide (even though no other mall in Christchurch nor Wellington does this), however, charging people $65 for a $1 parking fee is simply ridiculous.

As shown in the photos attached, I can read the 5HR sign at the carpark entrance, but the words and sentences to indicate that they now charge for the carpark are too small to read. There needs to be clear & bigger signs! I suggest putting another warning sign next to MAX HEIGHT 2.1 METERS (same font, colour and size).

There were hardly any vehicles in the carpark. In fact, the carpark is virtually empty most of the time.

Nobody is available to discuss/receive complaints. I've tried calling the mall multiple times, failed to find their office in the mall and the mall manager is not even answering his mobile phone.

Once again, congratulations on digging your grave. (MARK MY WORDS) People in Wellington will not support your...

The parking system is ridiculously a scam tool for the owner of the mall. If you are intending to park in the paid carpark for convenience then make sure to check if the parking machine displays the correct amount for the duration of your stay. I have been on multiple occasions recently charged $65 per visit for barely 1 hour of parking. I have taken photos of machine displaying amount to be paid which the smart compliance is claiming to be less. How is once suppose to pay more than the amount instructed by the machine? On 2 other occasions the machine was either technically malfunctioning or programmed to scan $65 breach amount by displaying $0 for parking amount. I usually take photos and on all 2 occasions I have taken photos. This is smart way of making money from deliberately using breach letters to customers Parking in the mall and charging less amount then issuing breach notices? No way I am visiting this mall ever again. Queensgate mall has free 4 hours parking with better varieties. This mall is heading towards chaos in the long run. Good luck...

I’m a “shop locally in Upper Hutt and support the community “ kind of individual.

I left for two years to study and on return to Wellington I received a parking fine at the Mall after spending just over $2000? After pleading in a lovely letter and paying for the ticket later, as well as the cost to mail them..they instantly replied with a update in price of the ticket to an $85 parking fine. I won’t be shopping here or recommending people to use the Mall any longer. The low usage of the car park after this change is a good indication of how everyone feels about this place. Thanks for nothing? $85 can easily pay for my fuel to queens gate mall where parking is free, costs are lower and the options are vast…

I’m sending this to you to review and I’ll...

I returned to Upper Hutt after 13 years away and was pleasantly surprised to see The Mall busy and humming along. I appreciated the onsite parking space. Shoppers were visiting stores, not sure if buying but I bought a christmas stocking filler in Bed Bath & Beyond's sale. The Lincraft store was new to me and has such a wide range of supplies at good prices. Coffee at Muffin Break is always tasty. The Mall is a good place to spend the afternoon.

Sad mall and the paid parking makes it not worth the time, just go to lower hutt. The parking enforcement is dishonest, entry and exit is photographed and they will fine you $65 even if you stay less than the minimum payment of 20 minutes, disputes are denied by their Australian parent company. Convenience fees are 40% for parking.
