Puketapu Lookout — Attraction in North Island

Another historic site around Whakatane. This lookout was once a Pa site or Maori fortification but these days it's a curated lookout over the whole town and rivermouth. There is a small amount of parking at the bottom of the short track up the hill to the lookout and the large grassy area at the top has been fenced off.
