The Bake House Cafe — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

Food was OK but nothing to write home about. The tables were covered in crumbs and sticky. Had to clean our table ourselves even though only one other table in use and no customers waiting. Asked staff member how old the chips were and she said they'd been in there quite a while. I still bought them and she charged me full price for as she said, old chips. They were horrible. The Potato Top pie was ok. Coffee was served in a takeaway cup even though eating in. The Doughnut was heavenly. Seemed that customers aren't important to staff, just a job. Probably...

Very Disappointed how the Main person operating the till. Could not please a Customer when the Customer asked about adding Lettuce to her Hamburger . Customer Service goes along way. To be arguing with the Customer IS NOT GOOD SERVICE. I have done Customers Service for 30 years or more. Today was Really Disappointing to watch this Display from the Staff member and to see the DISAPPOINTMENT on the Customer's face was Not Good. We will Not be Dining there again. Service is always awkward and uncomfortable, at times have been completely ignored and at one point and time the server looked past me to serve someone else whilst I was standing at the register with a handful of food 🤦‍♀️ Food can be good depending on what you buy but man is it insanely expensive!!!!!! $6.00+ for a sandwich or a pie is ludicrous, daylight robbery.
