I'll never forget that condescending look of the girl from i-site who was checking the tickets in the queue.
Being summer holidays and long weekend, there was a long queue unfortunately which was also moving at a snail pace. It was dark and super cold and I was very tired. I accidentally had lost my ticket when the girl came to check the tickets. I searched thoroughly and couldn't find it anywhere. My friend who was with me looked everywhere and couldn't find. I explained to the girl that I might've dropped it somewhere while waiting in the queue.
My friend requested to check if there's a possibility if they'd accept the bank transaction since it clearly showed the transaction but she denied.
I understand she was doing her job and was ok to deny the request but the worst part is, when she questioned in a condescending way as if I was lying and I actually had not bought the ticket. It was very embarrassing in front of everyone in the queue. It's a shame it happened in New Zealand and specially i-site.
Fortunately I found the ticket which I had dropped on the ground but it spoilt my visit to the heavenly place on the Tree Top.
People from i-site are generally very courteous and helpful but people like her are a disgrace in a well...
Read moreIf you visit Rotorua this is a MUST do. I don't know why people are saying it is not clearly marked? There are signs for it everywhere and it is only a few minutes out of town yet, once you arrive, it seems you are in a different world! The walks are all free and the one which we did marked in red on the map (just left of the information centre and follow the red walk arrows) was a nice 30 min walk into the forest. The air is fresh, crisp and clean. Breathe that fresh air in and enjoy it (pity some people do not take notice of the friendly refrain from smoking sign). Appreciate the beauty of the forest and these trees and their sheer height and age. The staff in the information booth were very helpful and friendly. Allow a good few hrs to walk around. It is...
Read morePlace and walk is beautiful as usual as I'm a local and I visit here often with my friends. But today's visit on 22nd feb 2023 wasn't a pleasant one because a staff member who was on first deck at 9.20 pm was extremely rude and sounded racist. I have a little boy who was scared as it was his first time here, and we weren't aware if we could lift him or not. Instead of instructing us politely and calmly, she shouted, and her behavior was extremely rude in front of 8 other people standing there. Also, when we started the walk, she asked us to get down the bridge and allow others to walk in a loud and rude voice, which she could have said it politely. I and my family felt insulted. I am extremely unhappy with...
