Some customer service training and an overall overhaul of back of house processes would do wonders here. So much potential ruined by the service experience. Went for lunch post redwoods walk as most people do. I acknowledge that our table was large, 10 people plus two kids and people ordered separately a mix of online via QR code and at the counter. The counter line moves VERY slowly and the attitude from staff starts there. Grumbly person at the till, angry that people “don’t know what they want when they get up here” while simultaneously not knowing how to use the POS system and listen to a customer order at the same time, forcing people to repeat themselves over and over again. Some dishes at our table were quick to arrive, within 10 mins of ordering and others took upwards of 40-50 minutes from ordering. Those who ordered at the counter had especially long waits. All up we were there for two and a half hours for lunch. We had two kids at our table and both had a significantly longer wait than the adults for their food, parents food came out and then twenty minutes later, the kids meal came. A bit of a strange choice to make kids wait. When we enquired with staff about the wait time and if they could check on our order after waiting 40 mins (and already waiting around 20 in line to order), we were met with A LOT of sass and attitude from every single team member we asked. We were told “didn’t anyone tell you there was a long wait” and “it’s a long weekend and everyone is out today, we’re under the pump” and very much made to feel like any problems were our own fault. This was made confusing by the staff throwing down two free coffee vouchers on our table, not explaining why they were giving them to us and utterly useless to us as a table of visitors from out of town and overseas. No actual apology. Luckily the food was delicious so that’s a small silver lining although my Bloody Mary was not good at all and the coffee came out spilled onto the saucer which is a pet peeve. I would not return and not recommend to anyone wanting a quick and relaxed meal.

We had 2 pizzas to share between 2 adults and 1 child and took leftovers away with us. I feel it is overpriced, the pizzas were average for the price charged. The tomato slices on the Caprese pizza were about 2 cm think which made the base soggy and basically no cheese. The breakfast pizza had far too much bacon on it but the sauce was really yummy. The coffee was good and loved the building. Didn't have much interaction with staff as ordered with QR code. The parking was a challenge as the top car park was full so have to walk along but no drama, only if you had mobility issues could be a problem. If the weather was nicer we would have sat outside so our toddler could run around on the grass.

had high hopes as I have heard quite good things about this place, and the initial impression was nice, beautiful interior and openness with a variety of cabinet foods. the place was clean, and everything was easy to find. food wise however, the eggs benedict for me was a bit of a letdown… the eggs were way overcooked, both the toast and bacon were burnt, (all pictured). the only redeeming factor was the hollandaise and presentation of the food. for a price point of almost $30 i expected better than other establishments that have better quality and taste at a fraction of the cost. perhaps my food was an outlier, but just had to share my personal experience.

Ahiahi tangata kia ora/Afternoon people hello, I visited this establishment on the 31st of July with my whanau/family and truly found it to be a very beautiful place, I really loved how interactive it was in educating people about their efforts in working with the enviroment the Ngahere/Forest and Papatuanuku/Mother earth also on how it was built.

I have a lot of Aroha/love for the integration of Maori culture into the structure too being of Maori decent myself. We personally did not get a kai/meal or a inu/drink here as after looking at the menu we found it to be very overpriced and expensive which is genuinely a shame to see.

On that note especially for such a place to exist in Rotorua which is steeped deeply in Maori culture with the surrounding local Maori people and local Iwi, in an area which is of great significance i find it very difficult to see how this place will ever accommodate much of our Maori or even local Maori people......

I understand it provides jobs etc, helps to benefit the environment the whenua/land and helps people which is great but this is the first Wharenui/Maori meeting house I have entered and seen almost next to no people of Maori descent......... this for me is where a big problem lies and the very reason for my low review, how they can call a place as such is beyond me.

They have designed and built a ataahuā/beautiful place embracing Maori culture but have not in my eyes made it affordable to accommodate Maori people who very much are the kaitiaki/guardians and kaihanga/creators of the culture and need to do much better as such in supporting our people.

"Overpriced cash grab for Rotorua tourists and holiday makers"

Feel free if anyone genuinely knows or can share information regarding my opinion but personally my whanau and myself will not support this.

Manaakitanga/blessings to you all and the Kaihanga/Creator...

Hey, Eastwood! Don't forget you guys are serving customer service as well as food! Staffs were not that friendly, and some staffs were rude. Some food of my orders was lost. So my wife told a staff that 4 orders were missing. After the claim, we got 2 ordered food in a few minutes. That means we still didn't get 2 ordered food. So I said to one of staffs that I was waiting for my food about 30 minutes (I didn't notice it was an hour, not 30 minutes at that moment). But, he tried teaching me it was 20 minutes, not 30 minutes without apology. It was an hour (I checked with the receipt), and also they missed again. No idea how they kept making mistakes? 😬 I ended up requesting to cancel my order since I was very uncomfortable. I don't think they learned how to do customer service but just they express how they're tired of many customers on busy days. I never recommend this place 👎👎👎👎👎 where nothing satisfied my friends and me. I read some reviews here and I could see people who experienced the same rude service. Looks like the owner doesn't want to make improvements with the customer service since tourists who are not aware of this worst service still visit and pay there. I can't avoid writing this review to prevent others from the same experience. Don't plan to go to this place if you have alternatives for your lunch. I was uncomfortable all day whenever I remembered this place even though my hotel, other places, food and activities were awesome in Rotorua.

Pizza was worse than the same cost of other pizza. Panini was so bad. Service should...
