I recently visited The Historic Village in Tauranga and was impressed by the charming atmosphere and historic buildings. The village is well-maintained, with beautiful gardens and a tranquil setting that makes for a lovely stroll. Read moreWe're UK based but have visited Tauranga a few times. This was our first visit to the Heritage Village and I am so sorry we missed it before. We only popped down for a stroll rather than any event so can't comment on those, but we were really impressed. The buildings are lovely, offering a real sense of place and character. The shops and cafe area enhance the buildings, giving it all a very lived in feel. I often feel NZ undersells some of its tourist sites, and this is another one that deserves a lot more attention and advertising. Parking was a bit dodgy the day we went.
