We were advised: About 50% of visitors HAVEN'T read or viewed Tolkien (so guessing they're on a tour group admission). The other 50% might just be groupies or IG poseurs. A great opportunity to photobomb these. Disneyesque entrance regime demands timings adherence or admittance can be cancelled even if you've driven several hundred km. Bring waterproofs: there's nothing like trudging through the hillside in the pouring rain with a coach load of bedraggled parents hoping to photo an elf or a troll or cabbage patch plastic legume (in the rain); the sound effects of their kids is life-like, especially in the rain. The special effects sizing is so realistic that that the tavern beers and pies are all 2/3rd real sized as well (but the prices remain real life sized).
