Disabled shower meant bathroom floor completely flooded, as floor was not angled, we had to use all the towels to try and dry to stop from slipping over when finished showering.
Beds are two singles pushed together, meaning large lump in the middle was not comfortable, definitely not suitable for couples unless they like sleeping on opposite sides of the bed.
No Sky Channels, which I thought was a bit slack for a motel.
Road & train noise massive would have thought when being built they would have put double glazing in or some sound protection.
Light in garden outside of room was facing straight into bathroom and bedroom windows, meaning had to close curtains completely to not have a full beam spot light shining in the room at night.
Got woken by a cleaner at 8am barging in, no knocking at all. This was the final straw. What if I was naked, getting changed or otherwise?? Check out isn't till 10am, so was no need to come in so early. The door was still locked, she just unlocked walked in, saw I was there, said she thought we had left, despite car in car park &...
Read moreOur party of 5 adults booked 3 rooms for an over night stay. We arrived around 7pm. Having already prepaid on line when booking, we were surprised when the owner wanted a credit card deposit on our arrival to the value of one night accommodation for the three rooms we had already booked and paid for. We were neither convinced nor accepting of the reason for this request and offered instead a cash deposit that would be returned to us on checkout which the motelier still argued was less in favour of and insisting on the credit card detail. Due to the hour and the reason for being in Matamata we felt forced to comply so we could deal with our more important issue. Our hosts were rude to say the least. We informed our family and friends including the ones who also stayed in two additional rooms, one being a family suite of the treatment we received. We were all in town for a family gathering, not the first time and not the last. None of of will stay with this motelier ever again. I do not recommend this motelier to anyone. I have rated it one star because I...
Read moreRooms are nice, very comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower but the road noise is deafening. This place is in desperate need of double glazing. The staff need to learn what working in hospitality means, they clearly don’t know it’s a service industry. The two Karen’s I encountered are just rude, they need to learn to smile and treat guests with some respect.
Edit added after property replied: We had the disability room that came with that carpark booked. You wanted us to move the car because YOU wanted to park your car there, You could have easily parked in front of your garage and not disturbed a paying guest. You didn’t make the other vehicle move that had booked the other disability room that didn’t have a disability pass to park there. You were not respectful when I questioned why I had to move, the scraggly haired lady was very snappy. As for the early check in you begrudgingly let us check in 1hr before...
