Easy enough to admit the FBS went through a hell of a lot of early anti days when it came out of the ground in 2009/2010. Seemed like every man and their dog had something to say about the place: most didn't want it. But, now, those folks seem to have quietened right down. I've enjoyed several rugby matches there: Rugby World Cup in 2011, some provincial matches since, and several Highlanders vs (others) across the years. Always have a great time in the stadium. And, as one recent poster said, the covered (but completely transparent) roof is a game-changer. So you are kinda' outside watching a match, but... you're not. It's awesome! No matter what the weather, you can enjoy whatever it is you are inside there to watch. I've not been to a concert in FBS, but understand many folks earlier on had major dramas with sound quality. From what I've read, they've sorted those issues out now (and, truth is you'd have to think that 7 or so years on, they certainly should have), so this doesn't appear to be an issue any more.

As for seating: everywhere I've ever been inside the stadium offers brilliant views of a game. But - the northern stand's upper tiers are true 'nose bleeders'. Incredibly steep seating arrangement, which works really, really well for viewing a game. But, she's a hell of a hike up those stairs if you're located anywhere near the top level seats. You'll be squeezing air pretty bloody hard into your lungs by the time you get up there... is the point I'm...

First of all, I'm totally impressed with whoever did traffic control for Pink (DCC?) The entire Logan Park Drive set aside for disabled parking. However on getting to the stadium you're on your own. If you are disabled, the only way you can get to a show or game without impacting your health is if: You can afford the most expensive tickets, and You are in a wheelchair with someone to push you. There were only 4 carts assisting people to gates, and only two gates accessing lifts. There was nowhere to leave wheelchairs or scooters if you could get to your section and could walk to your seat, and no way to access gates for lifts without joining huge queues. (Well maybe there is but after emailing and phoning the stadium beforehand - no reply or returned call - I failed to find the secret entrance.) I'm sure I'm not the only person who has trouble standing for long, walking far, or climbing steps. If you have a heart issue or other problem that restrict mobility, you need to consider the impact of negotiating this stadium, without assistance, on your health before...

Rod Stewart concert: Arrived early and queued for food. Sadly only greasy options available "The kitchen hasn't sent the salads yet". Seating on ground had a great view - until the people at the front stood up. Unless you are in the front row, forget seeing the stage clearly. Seats were comfortable and well spaced. Sound was good; clear and, whilst loud, not unbearably so. Entering and exiting the stadium was very well organised, however leaving the area by car was a very slow process, as traffic was heavily locked up making the general traffic flow 3-4km/hour or stationary. Took 3 minutes to walk to my car, 21 minutes to get from a park by the marina to the one way system. Best plan would to park further away and walk to your car as it will be easier and quicker.

Watched the All Blacks vs England game last night. What an awesome atmosphere and experience. Great stadium, lots of toilets, which were always clean. Good choices of stadium foods and drinks.

Went to both the Elton John, Queen and Adam Lambet concerts. Really appreciated the roof for Elton as the weather was atrocious. Security normally takes umbrellas but by the time we got there we were able to take ours in. The process through security was quick and efficient. There seemed to be plenty of toilets. We didnt buy food or drink but it looked okay. We had warm clothes which were really needed for Elton and make sure rainproof coat for rain. We had caught a bus to the Octagon and got the free bus to the venue. We had previously parked a car in the wharf area so walked there after. Might try the bus option to go home in the future. I think the stadium and its facilities are a credit to Dunedin.
