Fluid Espresso — Restaurant in South Island

Hi, I come here every time I’m in town, which is about twice a month. Normally I’m super excited as you have great coffee and food. Today was a different experience 10 September 11.10am Your barista today did not make a good long black … barely any water in my TA cup and it was lukewarm?! Long black are usually steaming hot as it’s Hot water with espresso… I took a sip when I already was in my car on my way out of town so didnt go back to complain. Sorry for making a public complain but you didn’t answer the phone when I called and I come to pay for great coffee so…. Maybe check your barista. I also saw the barista top up an ice latte with water, maybe the customer asked for that but it looked cheeky.

Please let her know how to make a long black …. From a barista 10+years...

I came to fluid after seeing a lot of their posts online and recommendations from friends. I got the Biscoff cookie croissant and the Bacon eggs bene croissant, in total was $24ish? The biscoff was delicious, very rich, maybe share with someone! In the middle it was like cookie dough? and biscoff spread which was warm and yum. The bacon bene was great aswell, i really liked this especially after the sweetness of the biscoff this was yum. The service was okay and the cafe itself is nice, lots of places to sit. I want to come back and try some of their other cabinet food. There is parking...

How do they have so many stars? It’s definitely a rip off. Imagine having such a location, obviously most of your customers are students and everyone knows students will prioritise coffee whether they can afford it or not. I’ve had better coffee from vending machines.

Also. Simply put, one of the girls behind the counter was not good. I won’t say more because I’m sure I’ll verge on being extremely insulting but yikes.

I’d rather get a McCafe coffee - supporting an evil conglomerate over this cafe really sums up my opinion of this place.

There’s loads of better cafes in this...
