The University of Otago is recognised as the first university in New Zealand (established in the year 1869), a significant milestone for Dunedin, New Zealand, as well as for university. This university is well recognised in the world for its science and technology and art. It comes in top 100 in the world. It has a very beautiful and eye-catching campus. There is a river between the University which divides old campus and newly constructed campus. I really liked old one. They maintained very well. Otago is placed in the worldâs top 50 Universities (QS rankings 2018) for the study of anatomy, archaeology, development studies, education, physiology, dentistry, and sports-related subjects. The universityâs internationally accredited business school is an Asia-Pacific leader in education and research, and its arts and humanities are ranked in the top 100 in the world. This place is well known for world-class research and training. It is home to 12 flagship multidisciplinary research centres and 17 research themes with particular teaching and research strengths across the areas of biomedical sciences, applied sciences, accounting and finance, clinical medicine, dentistry, earth sciences, economics, education, English language and literature, food and nutrition, law, medicine, pharmacy, philosophy, physics, psychology, public health, and tourism. I visited library of campus. To be honest I never saw before this type of library. What a building it is... Everything is built on high standards. We had a conference there for 5 days so I got a chance to visit this campus. I visited university indoor game campus and university ovel cricket ground. I have no word to describe it seriously. They spent a lot of money to make it worth.. indeed. After looking everything I got to know that why this university has very high rank in the world. If you are looking for admission here. The university grounds are honestly stunning â that classic Clocktower building with its stonework looks straight out of a movie, especially with blue skies overhead. Everything feels open and peaceful, with the river running through and students lounging on the grass or grabbing coffee nearby.
I wasnât expecting the campus to be this beautiful â thereâs something really calm and grounded about it. You can tell people here love where they study. Even the walk to uni is nice, with the city centre so close by and heaps of old trees lining the streets.
