Hocken Collections — Attraction in Otago

The staff was very helpful when I required very old issues of our local newspaper for research purposes. They were good in the telephone and issuing of the library card so I have easy access to materials. When our Women's Club closed after 25 years, we gave important documentation of it's existence so that the Hocken Library could archive it for future reference. We are very fortunate to have this library. There is always an ongoing exhibit so it is worth the visit. My husband found his great grandfather's diary. It was fascinating to read those. Some of the materials are so fragile you needs gloves and special instructions...
